Shooting Range, Thursday Afternoon
One of these days, he was going to get a gun.
Until then, Arthur's crossbow skills had to be kept up (they also had to be kept up afterwards, but that phrasing would've ruined his line of thinking) and it was as good a way as any to obscure any brooding over what had happened yesterday.
Because he wasn't. Brooding, that is.
Neither was he panicking.
He was just firing a great deal of crossbow bolts into a target meant mostly for another weapon entirely.
Arthur Pendragon did not have issues.

So: Shooting range. Clean harpy gook off of his pistol, nod a "Hello, Arthur," and then wait for him to take a break for a moment so Romeo could pass to a target beyond him. He hadn't seen a cross-bow in action from so close, so there was some fascination involved in the waiting.
[I may have a meeting any second, or I may not. The suspense burns! SPish, anyhow.]

The bolt nearly deposited itself a scant quarter-inch away from bullseye. "Bugger," he muttered, and lowered the crossbow.

Guns remained shiny. "Where'd you get that?"

You didn't get to be a knight without some insane dedication to the art of weaponry, and while Arthur did just fine with what he already knew, learning a new weapon could only be of help in the long term.

He was threading on new ground here and he knew it. And because of that, no matter what, no guns would make it back to Camelot.
Although he'd have to think of something else if tanks entered the picture. Which, he was hoping they wouldn't.

"Have you fired one before?"

One hurdle at a time. "I have," he said, "Hannibal made an almost passable attempt at acquainting me with them." Of course, Hannibal was also an idiot.

He managed not to roll his eyes at the mention of Hannibal. It wasn't like he was even still angry at Hannibal, it just brought up an uncomfortable situation. "You would be welcome to work with my spare, if you show me the crossbow."

He nodded at the guy with the crossbow as he pulled his small armory out of his locker.

The whole thing about the mohawk had been more confusing than Arthur was willing to admit. "You wouldn't be Priestly's twin, then, would you?" he asked, still idly messing with his crossbow. Hadn't even looked, really.

"One of them?"
Peace made with Priestly or not, he still found himself firmly in the 'idiot' category in Arthur's mind. (Several of Arthur's friends were in this category, so it didn't actually say much in itself beyond the level of disdain involved)

Sure, Dean wasn't exactly ugly, but the whole Priestly thing was turning out to be a little hard to get past.

"She would have to be, to manage the school as well as she does," he agreed, "And all its oddities."
