Sam's taste in music was a little ~~more emo~~ less peppy than what was usually played at practices, and he knew that Dean's tastes wouldn't help him here either. So, he'd spent some time scouring the internet until he had a good set of modern, fast-paced songs. Dragging the mats around and getting the gym set up for practice was definitely the easier part.

"You could say that," Adora sighed. "I was not exactly a nice child. I had forgotten."

"You were a little different," he recalled. "But, that was your upbringing. You didn't just decide to be...a meanie."

Best word he could find.

"So it was more that I was raised by the Horde than because I'm a bad person?" Adora asked with great hope.

"Adora, of course it was," Hannibal said. "They shaped how you acted, what you believed, and how you carried those out. You thought your behavior was fine because that's how you were taught."

"Then it's even more important to find the people I was cruel to and apologize," she said, glad of his reaction.

"I think they'll forgive you," Hannibal told her. "People are different when they're not who they usually are. Don't rip yourself up over it."

"I can't seem to help it," she admitted. "I was so mean I made people cry!"

"Children cry easily," Hannibal said. "You're not a bad person."

"You know Kaylee?" Adora inclined her head toward the cheerleader. "I made her cry on her birthday, at her party." And she was only four at the time.

"I know Kaylee," he said and shook his head. "I think she'll be all right. I made kids cry all the time when I was a kid. It's just a thing that happens."

"If you're sure, I'll believe you," Adora told him, trusting his opinion. He probably was the closest thing to a human best friend she had.

"Good," he said and grinned at her. "What else did you get up to while you were tiny?"

"Um," she really didn't have many good things to tell. "I gathered minions?"

"You were good at what you were doing," he said and laughed. "I ate a crayon."

Crayon? "Aren't those the wax coloring tools?"

"Yes," he said and shook his head. "Don't ask. I made Angela eat one too."

"And she went along with that?" Adora wondered how bright Angela was. "You must have been very convincing."

"I told her they tasted like Kool Aid," he said and shook his head. "And she was younger than me so she believed me."

"Aww, I bet you were sweet," Adora said, smiling.

"Dunno if I was sweet but, you know, thanks," he said and laughed. "You were cute as a kid."

"You're lucky I didn't boss you around or call you my minion." Honestly, he hadn't seemed recruitable.

"I wouldn't have listened to you," Hannibal admitted. "I tended not to listen to anyone when I was that size."

Now? Well, if they were a pretty girl, he'd probably listen.

"That was probably to your benefit," Adora considered. "Listening to certain people could make things much more difficult."

"And I think I'm smart enough to figure out who to listen to you and who not to," he said. "And if I listen to the wrong person, well, I'll get to use my improvisational skills and get out of the trouble I get into."

"You have improvisational skills?" Adora teased. "I never would have guessed."
