Fourth Floor Boy's Bathroom, Monday Evening

With a towel over one shoulder, Hannibal had disappeared into the bathroom about an hour ago. The hot shower had taken up most of that time but now he was out, clad in only his jeans, and standing in front of one of the mirrors, doing what guys do when their in the bathroom.

Checking themselves out, of course. It was a time honored secret tradition amongst men. They might not act it but they all wanted to look good. Had to look good out of clothes to really think you look good in them. Or something.

For Hannibal, that mostly meant deciding if he needed a shave or not. He'd decided no and then moved on to wondering if he needed a haircut. The wet hair didn't really help that decision since it wasn't doing its normal 'stick up where it pleases' schtick that he'd gotten so used to.

"Maybe I could just do it myself," he said to no one, ruffling his hair and not realizing how bad an idea that truly would be.

[Open to boys (and boys from other floors are so welcome)...and girls! Like any of the boys care if the girls wanna sneak in! This was partly due to me wanting rocksthescarf to make a post where Chuck shaved his chest hair (I used her favorite icon in honor of that) and wanting to see how many shirtless icons I could get in one place. Mondays do things to my brain.]

"Dude, do what yourself?" Hurley said, washing his hands.

"Cut my hair," he said, shaking it out and trying to get an idea of how long it had gotten. "Haven't had one in awhile."

Hurley looked over. "Dude, why not grow it out?" he asked.

"What, like your length?" Hannibal asked, glancing over at Hurley. "You think?"

Hurley tried to picture Hannibal with long hair. "It could work," he decided. "But I guess you're more, like, a clean cut guy."

Jack headed into the bathroom, carrying Jill's toiletries kit, then froze in the doorway when he realized there was at least one other guy present. Jill's shower caddy was kind of...pink. And filled with stuff that, now that he thought about it, was kind of girly. Mango mandarin shower gel? What was up with that?

"Uh," he said vaguely guiltily. "Hey."

"I don't think I have the head shape for longer hair," he said, trying to picture it. "The longest it's gotten is around my ears and then it starts itching."

"Hey," Hannibal said, surprising at not recognizing the new guy. "Welcome to the bathrooms. I'd give you the grand tour but then I might seem kind of idiotic."

Hurley chuckled. "I guess I'm just lucky," he said.

"Hey," Jack said, trying to hide the shower caddy behind his back. "Thanks. I've been here before, actually. I'm Jack."

"Doesn't it get hot in the summer?" Hannibal wondered, scrubbing a hand through his own hair. "I can't even keep a beard during summer because I'll get hot."

"Jack, good to meet you, Hannibal King," he said, wiping his hand off on his towel before offering it to Jack. "Haven't seen you before. My bad luck."

John had decided the fifth floor sucked for showers about the time his in-room shower's water refused to heat up. At least he hadn't gotten in before noticing this time.

He paused to inspect his scruffy face in the mirror. "Huh, I think you guys have bigger mirrors down here."

Hurley shrugged. "My hair looks hot all the time," he joked.

"As compared to where?" Hannibal asked, looking over at John. "Your floor?"

"Dude, seriously," Hurley said. "I thought the same thing."

"It doesn't seem fair at all," John complained. "We deserve to get a good view for...hygienic purposes."

"Yes, it does, Hurley," Hannibal said, grinning at him. "And the sideburns! I can't make mine look neat for the life of me."

"Uh huh, and the third floor. At least in the girl's room." Oh John, you shouldn't know that.

Jack switched the pink thing to his other hand so he could shake Hannibal's hand. "I'm not around much. Couple of days a month. I sort of...stand in for my sister when she can't be here."

"Sheppard, what are you doing in the girls room?" Hannibal asked, forgetting about everything else at that.

"Dude, I had the worst sideburns, before," Hurley said. "It just takes patience and stuff."

"Sweet deal for your sister," Hannibal said, snickering. "You wanna stand in for me sometime? If you're in the market."

John paused. "You probably don't know Dawn, Sam's ex-girlfriend? She and I had this whole head-shaving incident. I tell you, tequila is only your friend for so long."

"Do you use trimmers or scissors?" Hannibal asked, proving that boys totally talked about hair amongst their own.
