The Deck [Saturday, Afternoon]

Since it looked to be a little on the drizzly side today, Angela had foregone her original plan for an actual 'sit on the ground' picnic out in the grounds, in favour of one that involved a table with an umbrella, just in case.

It was still a picnic, she just didn't get the entertainment of getting Chuck sitting out on a blanket on the grass.

That was a shame.

[[Angela's there for that guy with the scarf. You all know the one. But the deck is of course open!]]

Chuck has had a very busy week and he was actually looking forward to doing something that most likely wouldn't end in violence (yes, even asking Blair to prom could have ended in violence). He was also almost happy about the poor weather. No matter what he told people, he totally wasn't the outdoorsy type.

He was also actively avoiding the fact that he was sporting an impressive black eye (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/1603846.html?thread=132774662#t132774662). The circumstances under which he had gotten it were just embarrassing.

"Looks like we won't be going on that invigorating hike through the preserve," Chuck said. "Which is just a shame."

"It's been a busy, busy week," Chuck said as he sat down at the table. "But don't worry, I cleared my schedule for the entire afternoon. I'm yours."

Chuck snickered. "I'll admit, when I first heard about the auction that was kind of the first thing that came to mind."

"No, I read it. I just didn't pay much attention to it," Chuck joked. "I figured free food was just an added perk."

"You know me too well," Chuck said with a grin. He took one of the containers of pasta salad and opened it up. "Much better than my picnic of chips and alcohol."

"Aww, you went to all that trouble for me. I'm flattered," Chuck said. Yeah, he knew that she would have done it for whoever won but, whatever. Let his ego do the talking.

"True," he said with a faint smirk. Chuck smirked and shook his head as he scooped out some pasta salad onto his plate. "That auction was fun to watch. I can't believe Eric paid that much for Priestly."

[identity profile] rocksthescarf.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Chuck smirked. "Eric certainly knows how to get what he wants. I've never been more convinced that he's my brother."

He picked weird things to be proud of.

"He's my stepbrother. Our parents have only been together for a couple of months," Chuck explained. "I've got a stepsister too."

[identity profile] rocksthescarf.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Pretty good step-siblings. I've known them for years. My stepsister was one of my good friends," Chuck said. "Was" being the keyword there. "I didn't think my dad would get married again either. He's kind of...well, he's like me."

[identity profile] rocksthescarf.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Chuck smirked. "No, no, I can totally see you as a gruff musician. Really."

[identity profile] rocksthescarf.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"You can come up with your own trademark," Chuck said, grabbing a roll. "Still, the whole musician dad thing is pretty cool."

Chuck smirked. "Can sort of relate. It is kind of weird opening up the New York Times and seeing your dad on the front page of the Business section."
