The roof, Monday after classes

So, things had handwavily come up yesterday, keeping Priestly and Eric from doing their cheerleader auction lunch thing. Hence why Priestly was up on the roof today with a picnic blanket (okay, make that a couple large towels) and his packed lunch spread.

All he needed now was the guy who was willing to shell out a thousand bucks to have a meal with him.

Eric made his way up to the roof, smiling when he saw Priestly. "Hey," he said. "Glad we could both make it today."

"Yeah man, too much longer and I mighta started getting ideas on grossing you out." Priestly smirked and gestured to the "blanket". "Pull up some terry, man."

Eric laughed, and sat down. "I still maintain that I was by no means inviting you to attempt to gross me out. My language was carefully chosen for just that purpose."

"No way, man, that was totally a challenge." Priestly grinned, rubbing his hands together before pulling items out of the basket he had with him. "Alright, we've got roast turkey breast on whole wheat with provolone, sprouts, and Russian dressing -- and of course, some kosher dills on the side -- and some kettle-cooked chips to start us off."

Eric's mouth began to water. "That sounds great," he said. "... I don't suppose you brought something to drink, too?"

"Well, I would, but studies have shown that drinking while eating actually interferes with -- yeah, okay, I'm full of crap. I've got some microbrewed root beer and a bottle of water."

"Microbrewed root beer?" Yeah, Eric was making 'gimme' hands. "I swear, this is already worth every cent of that $1000."

Priestly grinned and offered up one of the bottles. "Hey man, it's all about the high quality ingredients."

Eric took a drink of the root beer. It's entirely possible that he's now looking entirely blissed out. "I," he said, "couldn't agree more. I'm going to have to see if I can buy this stuff in New York." He paused. "... And possibly buy stock in the company."

"You mean there are things you can't buy in New York?"

What? Priestly was from the West Coast. New York City had been built up as the magical land of evil capitalism, to him.

"Not usually, but you never know." Eric shrugged. "But even if I can't find it in the city, I probably won't have any problems ordering it from elsewhere." He flushed a bit. "One of the advantages of... coming from money."

"Yeah, I suppose that'll come in handy." Grinning at Priestly, Eric took up one of the sandwiches. "So you made these yourself, did you?"

"Yeah, man. I was gonna work at a sub shop in Santa Cruz before I ended up shipped off here."
