Second floor common room, Friday afternoon

Priestly was once again curled up on the couch in the common room, flipping through channels on the TV in search of something light hearted to take his mind off the horrors of a zombie apocalypse.

Okay, so maybe he was slightly melodramatic.

At least so far none of the zombies had made it into the dorms. He was tempted to go for higher ground in hopes that the zombies wouldn't want to tackle the stairs, but his lingering headache meant he wasn't feeling that up to stairs, either. Hence the second floor.

He'd hunted up some sandwich fixings and laid them out on the counter, doing some light, one handed cooking to get hot roast beef going. He was hoping it'd attract some other non-undead people. Just doing his part to make sure the others who were now swearing off going outside feel at home.

Or something.

Something in Priestly's head said "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaains-Bray!" and started giggling.

"This is turning into a fair amount of work."

"It is," Claudia complained. "Maybe just throw marbles on the stairs and apologize later to the non-zombies?"

"Maybe wait for the zombies to actually attack, first."

"...oh yeah," Claudia said sheepishly.

Priestly grinned. "Wait till after the threat of immanent death is averted, then we'll worry about pranking people."

Claudia laughed. "That sounds like an excellent plan."

"I thought so. Plus, it gives my wrist time to heal."

"We sooo shouldn't do anything until that's fixed," Claudia agreed, nodding.

"Fighting off Hurley at the diner yesterday didn't help," Priestly admitted. "Next zombie apocalypse, I'm calling out sick."

"I think you've more than earned that," Claudia said.

"So, other than avoiding zombies, what've you been up to, lately?"

"I was a peacock," Claudia wailed. "Seriously uncool."

Priestly's eyebrows shot up. "Seriously? Like . . . with a beak and feathers and everything?"

"Yes," she said sulkily. "For more than a week."

"How did I miss this?"

"I hid?" she admitted.

"Yeah, that'd probably do it."

"And I also didn't have fingers to open the door." Not that she'd really tried...

"That would do it even more. What was it like?"

"Everything was much taller," Claudia said with a grin, "and I actually enjoyed eating sunflower seeds."

"Sunflower seeds are awesome."

"California boy," Claudia teased. "They aren't as awesome as Ho-Hos."

"Hohos are also awesome."

"They are on a different level of awesome," Claudia decided, "since they aren't seeds."
