Fifth Floor Common Room, Late Saturday Morning

"There's some orange juice in the fridge," Ronan said, as he pulled two tumblers out of the cupboard. "D'you want to pour us some?"

He started assembling items for breakfast -- eggs, bread, bacon, sausage...

[Open! And there will be lots of food to share, oh yes.]

"No waffles," Ronan said, "but there's egg-in-a-hole, and bacon and sausage, if you'd like. And orange juice."

He looked up at Tony. "Ours?" he mouthed.

Tony nodded and shrugged helplessly.

"Sausage and eggs!" Colin ran up to hug Ronan. "Da? Are we really in olden times?"

"Well, I wouldn't call it olden times, but yeah, you're in the past," Ronan explained, smiling softly. "In fact, you haven't even happened to use yet."

If ever.

Sometimes he hated days like this, for futures that might never come.

"Is it when books are all heavy and creepy like the ones at Uncle Henry's place that I'm not s'posed to know about?" Colin clapped his hand over his mouth. "Powers! Don't tell him, please?"

Tony was pouring himself a very large cup of coffee. "Uncle Henry?!"

"Someone you know, then?" Ronan asked, smirking just a bit.

"He's Daddy's oldest friend," Colin said, puzzled. "How come you don't know him?"

"Henry's in Vancouver," Tony said. "Ronan hasn't been there yet."

Ronan grinned. "Someday soon, perhaps," he said, grinning at Tony.

"So!" he continued. "Hard yolk, or soft?"

"Runny!" Colin told Ronan. "This isn't Vancouver?" he asked.

Tony shook his head. "We're in Fandom," he said. "It's pretty far from Vancouver."

"Across the continent, in another country," Ronan clarified, as he flipped one of the egg-in-a-holes, let it cook a moment longer, before slipping it out onto a plate.

He set the plate on the counter and pulled over a stool. "Up you go," he said, grinning at Colin. "Would you like some more juice, as well?"

Colin climbed up on the stool. "More juice, please!" he agreed.

"Hi Tony," Katrina said calmly. "Juice?"

"Hi," Tony said. He had no idea who she was. "Sure. Thanks."

Katrina poured him some, very carefully, then told him, "Daddy's making eggs. You want some, right? Lots of pepper?" She handed over the glass, very intent.

"Sounds good," Tony said. Ronan's kid. He had no idea what her name was. Kids around here should be required to wear nametags, really. "Thanks. Uh, is this your first time in Fandom?"

"This is my third time. We came for a couple Homecomings. Mom came with us, once," Katrina told him, then frowned, remembering. "I met you then, but I guess you don't remember 'cause of the time travel thing, hunh? I'm Katrina."

"Hi Katrina," Tony said. Okay, that was a little easier. "Nice to meet you. Do I know your mom?"

"You know here back home, a little, but here she already graduated," Katrina said, looking up with a thoughtful expression. "Do you know Parker? Just Parker? Nobody uses her first name, not even Daddy, really. She got me this anklet." Katrina stuck out her ankle, then flipped the chain so he could see the diamonds. "Just in case!"

"... in case of a fashion emergency?"

Katrina gave him an approving look. "That too! But mostly in case I get stuck somewheres, or magic happens, or somebody kidnaps me, or I get lost from Daddy." She flipped it back over, and very seriously added, "And chocolate in case they don't take Visa."

"You sound prepared," Tony said, impressed. Although... "Does that happen a lot?"

Katrina counted to herself, and then carefully said, "Three and a half time. One time was an accident, I just got lost in the Great Market. And one time was a magic thing and I was only lost for a little while, that was just inconvenient. And one time was big magic and one time was Mom's work, but we don't talk about that."
