"There's some orange juice in the fridge," Ronan said, as he pulled two tumblers out of the cupboard. "D'you want to pour us some?"

He started assembling items for breakfast -- eggs, bread, bacon, sausage...

[Open! And there will be lots of food to share, oh yes.]

"Your friend that we apparently named our daughter after?" Joan said. Oh OH. His frantic hand gestures actually kind of made sense then.

Marco nodded, a lot. "UH HUH!"

Jadie glanced up and glared at Joan. "Why'd you name Rachel after Mommy?"

Marco flailed.

"Because she's Daddy's very good friend," Joan said. "And she's special, just like our Rachel."

It sounded good.

Marco nodded along with that explanation. It was totally better than anything even close to the truth. "Right. Exactly. More waffles?"

Joan looked at mess in front of Rachel. "Um, I think maybe you've had enough."

Oh dear lord, she was turning into her mother.

"Um..." Deer in the headlights have nothing on Marco right now. "Yeah, I think Joan has a point, right?"
