Behind the Dorms, Tuesday Afternoon

Last week's turnout had been encouraging, so this week saw Arthur, Leto and Reno back at their lot behind the dorms. Arthur stepped up to the forefront, his arms behind his back. "This week, we begin our real efforts," he started. "Above all, we are here to learn and to organise ourselves. In order to do that, we must know each other's strengths and help where we can. Please seek each other out, test those strengths, find ways to better yourself. We are all here in a common cause."

He took a breath, then began to pace idly across the grass. "Beyond our individual abilities, however, we have to establish some common strategies that we can easily default on in times of crisis. We all occupy the same island. You must all also have your own ideas. We'll discuss those as well."

With a curt nod, Arthur finished, "Thank you all for coming. Reno, Lord Leto and I will be joining you, of course."

Worf arrived. However he was not much for the mingling.

In fact he pretty much stood around and looked intimidating.

So basically Worf was being himself.

This week, unlike last week, Tahiri was here because that's where she'd intended to be, looking and feeling a little more relaxed but still fairly serious.

Not, however, so serious that cracking a smile was out of the question.

Ino was a bit bouncy-hyper-active at the moment, sitting down in a shop all day writing was pretty much going to make her want to move around, and she was totally checking out who all was there.

Romeo wasn't sure what good he would be, but he'd come the week before and he would come this week and next week too. he hung back, in distinct "shut up and listen" mode.

Firekeeper was far more used to giving orders than taking them, but it seemed that since she kept getting dragged into human wars back home, the same was bound to happen here.

And so here she and Blind Seer were. Mingling.

After a handwavy talk with Dinah, Tony decided to check out the defense team. He wasn't really a fighter, true, but his magic skills were improving. Plus he'd fought on the barricade against zombies, so that kind of counted.

So he was there, doing the mingling thing, not sure if he needed to sign in or announce himself or what.

Éowyn had missed the first mention of this group on the radio, but not the last one, and it seemed like such a good idea that she knew she'd regret it if she didn't go.

Momoko was back and really hoping that was okay. She did want to help and found she missed having teammates. As friends and as partners in a fight.

Merlin looked around vaguely. It wasn't as though he was interested in being smacked around by anyone other than Arthur, but he was interested in seeing what others could do.

"Last week, I spoke to some of you about the tactics employed during the zombie invasion," said Arthur, pacing leisurely across the grounds. "Tahiri raised the point that we should not let ourselves be cornered. We need to find ways to keep a line open down to the causeway. What would you do?"

"So, like," Ino said, a bit dubiously, "the causeway is a good point of retreat, I guess, but we're on an island. Boats'd probably be a good idea too, right? 'Cause that way, if we've got that, we've a lot more places we can get off the island from."

A beat.

"And keeping the causeway open would probably depend on the enemy too--I bet it's a pretty good entryway for them to get here, and if that wasn't checked out first we could be running right into their main forces."

See? She could be helpful and consider this utterly ridiculous. Multi-tasking! Somewhere, Asuma-sensei was sighing.

"What's wrong with getting cornered?" Sokka asked. "The school's pretty good for weathering a siege. If we can keep the wall from being breached next time, we could last for WEEKS."

Leto has some thoughts on organisation, but he saved those for a later occasion. Everything needed to be put into context, of course, and he still wanted to get an impression of what methods would be best suited in this group.

He kept an eye on the people gathered.

Well, of course Reno was there. Just because he wasn't long for this island didn't mean he'd start slacking off now, after all.

He grinned, leaning back into the spot he'd staked out against the wall last week, his arms crossed over his chest. If anyone looked like they wanted assistance with their form, he was totally willing to let them punch him a few times to make sure they were doing things right.
