Buffy had survived her last finals as a senior.

More importantly, she'd gone a whole year without getting kicked out of school.

This would be why she was making brownies (the regular kind, thank you) in the common room kitchen, with the TV on for background noise. This was something to be celebrated.

"Congratulations!!!" Zayne said with a bit more pep, raised arms STEVE HOLT style, and an extra two exclamation marks.

Buffy laughed. "Okay, I like that time way better."

"I had much better motivation this time," Zayne said.

"For that you can definitely have an extra brownie. Imagine the pep you'll have with more sugar!"

"If I start congratulating everyone who walks in the room, stop me and don't let me have any more brownies," Zayne requested.

"Oh, no, that's when I see who has a video camera. Maybe I'd tell everyone it's a gremlin bite."

"You're lucky the brownies are good or else I'd call you mean for even suggesting that," Zayne joked.

"And if you did that, maybe you wouldn't get any more brownies," she pointed out.
