Arthur'd left a message to all about the change in location for today's drill, last week. He was in something of a better mood, although yesterday's spar with Lady Elspeth had knocked him back down to a normal grouch. At least he no longer looked like he was contemplating murdering his co-conspirator.

He didn't start speaking until he was fairly sure they'd gotten their haul of people for the day. "Today, we begin to work with our terrain," he announced, "And each other. You all have vastly different skills and powers at your disposal; now's the time to share them. You'll be venturing out to different defensible locations, spread over the seaside to your right," he nodded, "the Rocky Bits at your left," another nod, "And the ground you're standing on. Pick one, and set up a plan to make it defensible."

After a quick glance at Arthur, to make sure he had finished, Leto continued: "And after having made your own strategy for defense, some research will help you develop it. Find examples from various points in history of successfull defense of a geographic location similar to the one you chose and write a short report on your own conclusions."

Leto was here, prepared to talk and discuss with anyone.

After the flight workshop, which hadn't been bad, just... an entirely new experience, it was a relief to be on more familiar ground. Literally speaking. Firekeeper and Blind Seer looked around curiously to see if any new faces would show up today.

As long as she didn't have to actually go out on the water, Firekeeper was fine with working just about anywhere.

Fiona came straight from work, though she'd been smart enough to bring a change of shoes; her boots would ensure she didn't twist an ankle in this mess.

But... share her power? She didn't mingle so much as stay back as she tried to consider how to put it to others.

Finally satisfied with her thoughts, she walked over to one of the other girls.

"Hello. My name is Fiona. Can I join you" she peered at the wolf "and your friend?"

She assumed nothing about the wolf. Something about having conversations with giant crocodiles makes it hard to ever think of animals as just animals ever again.

Arthur was here as well, looking accessible, even if he may have occasionally glanced at Leto from the corner of his eyes.

Ben was in a fantastic mood after a morning spent flying podracers. He listened to the instructions carefully, already running through the various scenarios he'd come up with when he'd first arrived on the island.

Ben was a pretty paranoid fourteen year old.

Ben immediately began heading toward the rocky bits. Higher terrain was always better.

Tahiri was in a pretty good mood herself after her flight workshop, with the extra sense of accomplishment that came from finishing off the gaderffii sticks she'd been building for herself and Dinah.

Rocky bits, yes, but . . . what, you thought she'd put on shoes for this?

Tahiri had thought about following Ben up to higher ground, but opted for heading the opposite way, down the seaside, working on the notion that it would work more to their advantage to cover more area with their Jedi senses.

Not like she couldn't contact him if she needed to anyway.

Leto might glance back, but that was about the only way he acknowledged Arthur's presence.

Dinah's day off from classes was more a day on for everything else, but since that was the way she liked it, she was humming. "Hey, Tahiri. Yay defense?"

"Always," Tahiri replied. "We do a lot of that lately -- speaking of which, when you get a chance to head over to the salle, I have something for you."

"Cool! Is it what I think it is?" Dinah grinned, and pantomimed staff-hits at Tahiri.

"Yes and no," Tahiri replied, falling into the countermoves of the pantomime. "I'll have to show you how to use it; it works a little differently than a staff. I sort of modified the standard design, too."

"Oooo, awesome." Dinah beamed at her, and settled back to parade-rest. "I've got work on Thursday, but tomorrow's open after Criminal Justice. That work? Or Friday?"

Even if she didn't have class again until Friday, she had to talk to Tyler tomorrow and knew she'd probably be on edge about it before that, so Tahiri considered and shook her head. "Friday might be better. I'm free after Rangering, pretty much."

Leto gave Fiona a smile and a brief nod, pleased to see that she had joined them.

She looked up as she felt eyes on her and gave Leto a smile back.

Ino still had her crown of flowers on her head, and she didn't care how much of a dork that made her. This was pretty dorky too, if you asked her.

She hummed and bounced idly.

She was a little surprised to see the girl from the flower shop.

"Oh. Hello again."
