Chester A. Arthur Campfire, Thursday Evening

Emma was bored. Staying in the cabin for more than a few hours was making her twitch; she'd the close quarters made things too loud, even when she was at her most focused. After being on her own for over a year, and just Hank for company for the last month or so, so many people was making her almost physically ill.

Which is why she was lounging out by the campfire in defiance of the glitter that still occasionally drifted down from the sky. Sunglasses on her face and idly flipping through a magazine while she sucked on a popsicle she'd found somewhere, letting her mind streach and wander about as she relaxed the tight hold she'd been keeping over herself since this morning.

Bored. For a school supposedly full of people with powers, so far, most of them were startlingly dull. Emma was starting to despair.

Maybe some of their thoughts would be more entertaining than the students themselves seemed to be.

Emma nodded. "I saw the posters for the parties," she said, "and my last workshop for the week was today. I'm thinking I'm going to like my three-day-weekends."

"I'd probably like my three day weekends too if I had one," he said. "You're in this cabin, right? I've been sticking to my alcove."

Because he was lazy and he'd have a visitor there, which had been fun.

"Hannibal King."

"Frost," she replied, extending her hand. "Emma Frost, from A4. Charmed, I'm sure."

"Oh, definitely charmed," he said, nodding in agreement. "My life's been emptier for not having met someone as pretty as you when we've been living so close."

The open flattery got a laugh. "Then I'm glad I could help fill the gap in your life," she replied. "We would want you to go through life lonely, when I'm just down the hall."

"And we've only just now met," he said, shaking his head solemnly. "What a travesty. So much time wasted."

"Well, now we have the entire summer to get to know each other better," Emma replied sweetly. She wasn't unaware of the innuendo, but she wasn't going to acknowledge it, either.

"So, what classes did you have this week, that I didn't come across you out there in the great wide world?"

"I've got one tomorrow on slacking which I'm really looking forward to." He loved his classes. "But I spent the first half of the week laying on the beach and swimming for a class and playing basketball in another. Gotta keep the physique in prime summer shape."

"Mmm. Mine aren't quite as physically ambitious," Emma confessed. "Acting, spy games, seduction, and fashion aren't exactly summer recreation."

"I missed a class on seduction?" Man, he must have been half asleep selecting classes. "Well, I'm already really good at that anyway."

"Oh really?" She crossed her arms and grinned at him. "No room for improvement? No desire to improve your skills? For shame, Hannibal King. I feel sorry for your intended targets."

"You don't even know who my intended targets are," he retorted, smirking. "How do you know they're not satisfied?"

"They might be now," Emma pointed out. "I'm not disputing that, yet, since I don't have the facts."

"But if you're not going to expand your repertoire, as it were..." Emma spread her hands and regarded him innocently. "One should always strive to learn new things."

"Perhaps I'm an independent learner," Hannibal suggested. "I don't need classroom instruction for seduction."
