Rutherford B. Hayes Campfire, Saturday Afternoon

Tony had tried to get a fire started, but he'd gone through a whole book of matches and the damn thing still wouldn't stay lit. He had hot dogs and buns ready to cook if it ever got going. He figured he was probably doing something wrong, but he had no clue what. He had wood, he had flame, what else was there?

He gave up and munched on a cold hot dog.

Leda smirked. "Oh yeah? How so?"

"Nice, loud, noisy music." He grinned and shrugged.

"Yeah, we were. So what's our new plan for vengeance since she's up?" Karla's voice was sardonic.

"We drag her to a party and don't let her have any wine."

"You are cruel. And didn't you say there were two parties? So we're dragging her to two parties with no wine. Excellent," Karla nodded approvingly. "Wait--didn't you say something about wearing green to one?"

"I'm sorry, I thought you were having a good time. And how is you wearing green vengeance?"

Karla didn't want to admit that in what little she could remember of last night, she always did seem to be having fun. So, in Karla-like fashion, she avoided the question.

"Green is just what we have to wear to one of the parties. We're you're not gonna drink."

Of course, they weren't either, but Karla felt no need to mention that. Yet.

"A green party?" That did sound vaguely familiar. Of couse knowing Leda she might have had something to drink before they even got there. "Did they pick a color at random or is there some significance?"
