LBJ Campfire, Monday Evening

Chuck didn't know who started the campfire outside his cabin but he was glad that someone did. He was capable of working a lighter but that whole Boy Scout-y wood and newspaper in the optimal fire starting position thing was lost on him. So when people did the hard stuff for him he was appreciative. Silently appreciative. He wasn't about to be thanking people out loud.

Now he was sitting back against a log with a joint in his hand and was debating going back inside the cabin to grab marshmallows. Maybe after the munchies set in.

"Hey, old man," Hannibal said, wandering over since his campfire was empty. "Got your AARP membership yet?"

"Not yet. I'm sure it's in the mail," Chuck said. "Can't wait to get that discount at the movie theater."

"Well, you look good for your age," he said, settling down. "Surprised I'm seeing you at all. Thought you'd be recovering from a birthday bender."

"Nah, I did most of my drinking the morning of," Chuck said honestly. "I remained surprisingly bender-free."

Blair's eye rolling and Sam's disapproving looks were more than enough deterrent for Chuck if he was tempted to get too hammered at his party.

"It was a good party." Hey, he'd had LOTS of fun. "You have a good time?"

Rose should be enjoying this whole 'no classes' thing, but she was more bored than that. And annoyed that she was here sitting on her butt instead of doing her job.

But the obvious smell made her almost feel at home, and she detoured to the campfire and the guy sitting by it. "Hey there."

Fiona made it a habit of stopping at fires, especially if there were people there she hadn't met. Of course, this was the first time someone was smoking something that wasn't a cigarette.

Considering how she'd broken the law (and probably should be considered an enemy of the United States government), she wasn't about to bother him about whatever he had in that wrapper, but she was curious.

"Hello," she started, figuring the classics were always a good way to begin.

"It was party all about me, of course I had fun," Chuck said, smirking.

"And see, Blair didn't kill me." She'd just put the fear of God into him. Very well. "We're almost chummy." They so were not.

Oooh cute girl. Chuck gave her a smile and waved at her with the hand that was holding the joint. "Hello."

Adora was pleased to see people (even ones who'd beaten her at basketball) at her cabin's fire and she smiled at all her friends, new and old. "Good evening!"

"Hi," Chuck said, giving the unfamiliar girl a smile. "You don't live in this cabin, do you?"

He was still having trouble picking out just who lived in his cabin.

"I saw her face while she was talking to you," Chuck said. "What did you say to her to make her hate you?" Because she so obviously did.

"Hello, Adora," Chuck said. "How are you this evening?"

"She doesn't hate me." She so did. "We were bonding."

"Having fun or just really bored?" she asked with a smirk, taking the wave as an invitation and taking a seat.

She shook her head.

"Hoover," she provided with a rather disdainful look that had nothing to do with the people in the cabin and everything to do with the president himself, who she'd found to be largely ineffectual if interesting to study from a biographical standpoint.

"Fiona, by the way," she introduced herself.

"I believe we share a class."

Chuck rolled his eyes. "She hates you. Don't worry; you're in good company. She hates Sam too."

"Hey, new girl!" Hannibal greeted. "Or girl I haven't met yet which is just a shame, if it's true."

"A mix of both, actually," Chuck said. He offered the joint to her. "Want some?"

"I told her not to destroy Angela," he said, using air quotes. "She thought I was implying she owed her a favor."

"Fabulous," she replied. "You've set up quite the fire here. I do hope you take safety precautions." She had such fear of people setting themselves on fire accidentally.
