FDR Campfire, Friday Night

Hurley settled down at his campfire and started a proper fire. He had his s'mores fixings, as well as stuff for hot dogs. A well balanced diet, that's what he was after.

After a long day at work, this was the life, he thought.

[ooc: Severely open! Come one, come all!]

The smell of food was annoying, but after the fair and all, she was quite prepared for the simplicity of a fire. If it had company, that was all right, but she didn't particularly care.

She happened on one already lit and plopped herself down. It took her a minute to notice where the food smell was coming from and she threw up a little wave for him before slouching down against the log.

She shook her head; it would be a waste, after all, though she didn't take the time to explain that.

"Thank you, though."

Penelope wandered by and seeing Hurley, she stepped over and sat down by him.

"Good evening, Hurley."

"Fiona," she offered with a small, smile. She was a little tired, but still in a wonderful mood. Tutoring Himura had gone very well.

"A S'more, please," she replied politely.

"It's a very nice evening to be out by the fire. Have you had a good day?"

Her face scrunched up in distaste.

"Hoover," she said.

"I like my cabin mates. I just don't like the president."

"I promise to come in and purchase something next week," she commented, helpfully.

She grinned wide and nudged him with her shoulder. "That defeats the purpose of a customer sale, doesn't it?"

It fell a little flat as she needed a moment to get the joke. She smiled at him, though.

"Yes, probably best. I'd start criticizing his economic policies and no one would ever sleep."

"You're sweet but you don't need to." Even though it made her feel warm and squishy inside.

"...why?"

[identity profile] cutsthestrings.livejournal.com 2009-05-23 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
"...I'd want to discuss his feelings on his choices during and before World War II."

She laughed. "Okay, it possibly does. Unless I don't come in next Friday," she teased.
