The Garden, Sunday Afternoon
Karla was feeling moody. Maybe it was knowing that shes was moving out of that cabins and back to the dorms with a roommate she didn't know. Maybe it was homesickness, stirred by her booth at the Multi-Cultural Fair. Maybe it was knowing this next week was going to be filled with a lot of anxiety that few people could actually know about. Whatever it was, she was a mess of different emotions, most of them unpleasant.
And so, she did what any Kaeleeran Queen would do: she found a garden and started working on it. Queens needed a connection with the land; it soothed them, help them think, and, in return, they made the land healthier and stronger. It was a nice trade-off.
Today, however, Karla wasn't concerned about making the land better. She just wanted somewhere peaceful to work while she sorted through her odd jumble of emotions. So she spent the afternoon weeding, thinning, watering, and just basically getting good and mucky.

She frowned. "And just what is it that makes males more suitable to rule, other than the fact that they've got balls? At least in Kaeleer, there's a reason that females are Queens."
[In Kaeleer, Princes and Warlord Princes are two of the male castes. For both, 'Prince' is the proper title. She's referring to Leto as if he were a Kaeleer male.]

"The Bene Gesserit sisterhood... are not easy to explain. They seek influence and to guide humanity on a a stable and prosperous path. Of course, not everyone wants to be pawns in their scheme."
"As for your last question... I believe many think that physical strength equals a kind of mental strength and stability." He didn't necessarily agree with this himself.
[oh! I see]

[Karla's favorite kind of compliments: the ones people won't get]

The Bene Gesserits were quite aggressive in their own way.

because I'm not at that point in canon yet. Though I will not argue against females taking part in that kind of agression." Her smile showed a lot of teeth. "Though it's funny how often certain males forget that."no subject

As much as he did like Arthur, he saw no reason not to make fun of him just a little.

As was being Pre-Born, if people couldn't see the difference between that and Abomination.

"My people." He thought for a moment. "The Fremen are descendants of a people forced to roam between different planets. Arrakis, with its harsh climate, might not have been the first choice of settlement. But people can learn from their environment and adapt to it.
Water is the most precious thing in the desert. It is never wasted. A person's water belongs to the tribe and it returned to it after their death.
And then, there is Spice, the most expensive commodity in the universe, found only in the deep desert on Arrakis..."

It wasn't really Spice, or the fact that his mother had taken too much, but how Pre-Born were seen as Abomination my many.

"Your eyes are blue?" Karla teased lightly. "Hadn't noticed. I should be careful, then. In Glacia, blue eyes are a sign of sneaky troublemakers."
It should be noted that Karla's eyes were also a very bright blue. Though certainly not as bright or as blue as Leto's
