Fifth floor common room, Saturday evening

After detention there had been some time to check messages and figure out if there was anything she needed to catch up on after spending her morning cleaning up alligator parts, and then she'd gone for the second shower. Her priorities were a bit skewed, but 'ew' was 'ew'.

Since she had some time on her hands, she settled into the common room of her apparently adopted floor with popcorn and her comlink on the table in front of her, flipping through channels and being really glad that Scifi's monster movies tonight had nothing to do with lizards.


[Omg people I have not actually played in TWO WHOLE DAYS. Seriously, no SP pings or ANYTHING. I need to post a CR to fix that. Open!

Jaina nodded at the bag, asking, "Present?"

Jennifer shook her head. "Assignment, actually. It's for Criminal Justice."

"You brought your homework to the common room?" It wasn't a judgment. She liked that someone did that, but then again, she was a workaholic.

"Every time we see someone from the class, we're supposed to exchange evidence bags and sign them," she said. "It's a procedural assignment, really."

"Huh. Have you had to exchange anything yet?" she wondered.

Jennifer nodded. "I traded it with Helen at the sleepover party the other day," she said.

"Did you get anything good?" She knew the important questions.

"It's just a card from some flowers," Jennifer said. "Though it's not one of the embarrassing ones, so that's a plus."

"Should I ask what the embarrassing ones were?" Of course she would, but.

"They were, like, sex things," Jennifer said. "Oils and the like."

Jaina tilted her head. "And this was for class?"

Jennifer nodded. "Mr. Gibbs has a sense of humor."

"Apparently. What's your name?" said Jaina, not thinking she'd met her yet.

"Jennifer," she said. "I'm kind of new, but you probably already figured that out."

"I had," she admitted. "Jaina. Hope you're settling in okay."

"I am, it's great," Jennifer said. "Even the part I thought would be awful is turning out okay."

"What part was that?" she asked, only thinking a second later that maybe that was a bad question.

"I'm assigned a boy as a roommate," Jennifer said. "But he's actually really nice."

"Some boys are," said Jaina, who'd lived with boys for most of her childhood. "Who's your roommate?"

"George," Jennifer said. "He's new, too. But maybe you've met him?"

She had to think about it a second. "I think I've heard the name, but I haven't met him."

Jennifer nodded. "So, where are you from?" she asked, hoping to get to know people better. "I'm from California, myself."

"Coruscant, originally," she said. Not that it was there in its original form anymore. "It's kind of a way away."

"That sounds interesting," Jennifer said. "I'm guessing you mean, like really a way away, since I don't recognize the name at all."
