The Salle, Monday Morning

Fighting Ben still in SP last night had been somewhat cathartic. It hadn't been cathartic enough not to send Arthur back down to the salle with a sword and a mission to use it. So there he was, slicing clean but sure along the lines of a dummy with said practice sword.

There were few times in the week he felt anywhere near at ease. This was probably the most reliable.

The thing with not talking about Juliet (which Romeo didn't these days -- he reckoned that Ender and Angela were the only people to hear the story in any form in the last year, and one of those was his wife for the moment and the other was out of sheer irritation) was that people didn't know it and so said things like that, which, while harmless in intent, still caught him like muted blows.

So he made a muted sort of agreeing sound, coupled it with a slight smile, and pretended to be far more occupied with his stretching than he really was.

Embarrassed at being overly romantic, and assuming that she might have embarrassed Romeo too, Dinah smiled, and said, "Anyway. I'm glad it didn't get too weird this week with you. And we should talk more." She grinned. "Maybe even spar, sometime. If Arthur isn't busy bossing both of us around."

"Please," Romeo said instantly, smiling up at her as the cloud passed. "I only have work, this, and one class. I've more time than I know what to do with."

"Cool!" Dinah grinned, diverted from all awkwardness to one of her favorite things. "I work Thursdays at the flower shop, and Tuesdays are rehearsals and the Reserves. But any other time would work?"

"I'll make a post be in the gym Wednesday after classes?" Romeo offered. "Unless you mean sparring with staffs. Then, I'll be here."

He felt an inward twinge about hitting a girl, but he'd seen Dinah in action enough not to worry about it too much.

"The gym," Dinah said immediately, nodding. "I still need to practice the staff work a bit more before I can challenge anybody. Soon, though." She grinned. "I'll leave you to getting ready for your lesson. See you then!"
