The Deck [Friday Evening]
Joan had an inexplicable craving for s'mores. After a handwavy trip to Turtle and Canary to pick up supplies, she returned to the dorms and built a fire in the pit by the deck.
She was totally impressed with herself that she managed to get it going on her own. And now she was going to sit back and enjoy the fruits of her labor. Which were more of the chocolate, marshmellow and graham cracker variety than actual fruit.

"Have you ever been woken up to do it yourself?" she asked. She always wanted to see how people's experiences might differ. While she was having a great time and was spending most of her time enjoying herself, there was a part of her mind that was always looking for information, always checking to see what might be around the next corner.

"I guess it's sort of interesting. Everyone listening to you."
Fiona laughed and shook her head.
"Sorry. I'm weird."

"It's one of the things I can do, drink, I mean. I don't know why, but the alcohol doesn't seem to settle in my stomach like other things. Then again, I might just be tipsy when it does."

"I don't usually eat. Like. Anything."
She knew how bad that sounded and immediately continued.
"I'm not anorexic or anything," she was sure to assure Joan, "it's just something that happened. Don't worry. I won't get sick."

Joan didn't get it, but she would trust her.

There was a gesture to the marshmallows.

"The deck is nice, though. I wouldn't think most schools have so many nice places to hang out."

Then again, that might have as much to do with hearing about Peyton and Dinah as anything.

She leaned back a little.
"And I miss him."

"It was, but we talk on the phone and we text each other all the time."
Fiona was a much less grumpy girl when she could play vocabulary insult a few times a day with someone who got it.
"We've been through worse. And everyone has things."

It made her miss Kevin. And even Luke a little.
