Ninth Hell Campfire, Monday evening

Clearly he had chosen completely the wrong workshops this time. The one he had thought was about art had turned out to be about stealing art (and why would he do that?) and the other one (Leto wondered if he had accidentally got it wrong) made even less sense. Clearly he would have to find some other means to further his education during the rest of the summer.

While contemplating this, Leto watched the flames of the fire, his hands wrapped around a mug of spice coffee. Perhaps he should attempt to make some of those s'mores that were so popular here.

Fiona was quite glad to be back in the cabins, if only for the fires and the easy access to those she enjoyed spending time with. That was why she sat down next to Leto without much ado.

"Enjoying the fire?" she asked him.

Leto leaned close to Fiona. "I am. Certainly more than the classes." He turned his head to meet her eyes, smiling. "How are you?"

He found Fiona's company comforting. This didn't mean he had forgot that she was dangerous, quite the opposite, but he felt as though they understood each other.

"Well," she said with a soft smile. She was still feeling good from the morning in the salle, despite the maddening class.

"Very well, actually. And you?"

"Apart from cursing my classes, I am well." He shook his head, thinking about the poor choices he had made. "Very well?" He raised an eyebrow at her. "Any particular reason?"

"I hear you got moved down to my floor," Karla said, grinning at Fiona across the fire. "Makes our 'drink and list' party that much easier, huh?"

She bounced a little on her log.

"Yeah, definitely. Which room are you in again?"

"218," Karla answered, remembering in time not to offer Fiona a s'more. "Me and Gabrielle. You? And who's your roommate?"

Griff waved a little at Fiona, paying no attention to the face that she was likely there to talk to another of her friends. It had simply been a while since they'd talked.

Griff got a wave and, after a moment, she was over there sitting next to him, smiling a little.

"Hey, it's been a few days."

"It has. I met your new roommate. Seems you got the change instead of me," he said, smiling at her.

"Always nice when a cabin mate's already made up the fire," Griff remarked, having walked out of Ninth Hell, looking for some way to spend the evening.

"Kiss kiss," Karla said, smiling Griff. He looked vaguely familiar, but Karla couldn't remember if they'd actually spoken before or not. "S'more?"

Well, that was certainly a greeting to bring out a smile. "Are you making them?"

Karla laughed, "Probably not, but I brought the ingredients." She called them all in, having them appear close to Griff. "But you don't want me making any. It comes too close to cooking, which means I burn it."

Leto looked up. "It was for purely selfish reasons, but you're welcome to enjoy it, of course." He grinned.

"Thanks," he said, taking a seat. "Wouldn't want to invade if you were hoping for some quiet time with the fire." Not that this would stop others, but still.

"That is very considerate of you, but I wouldn't have chosen this place if I looked for privacy," Leto said. "I'm not sure we've talked before. I'm Leto Atreides."

"Kiss kiss," Karla called, strolling towards the fire. It wasn't her cabin's campfire, but it had people she knew around it. Karla was looking forward to meeting the newbies, but perhaps not all at once.

"Anyone making s'mores yet?"

"Hello, Karla." Leto looked up, smiling at her and gesturing for her to take a seat. "I was just considering that."

Karla was happy to oblige. "Are you better at roasting marshmallows than I am? Because I'll be most pleased to share, especially if it means I don't burn four for every one that is edible." For someone who has spent as much time in the kitchen as Karla had, she was exceptionally abysmal at cooking.

"Hello," Kenshin said, giving a polite nod as he settled by the fire.

"Hello," Leto greeted. "Have we met before?"

"Not formally," Kenshin said, shaking his head. "I'm Himura."

"Great Glamis! worthy Cawdor! / Greater than both, by the all-hail hereafter!" Karla greeted Himura with a grin and a wave.

Kenshin laughed, and waved her over to a seat next to him.
