The Dorm Roof [Saturday evening]

Triela had actually carried two of her big black equipment bags up to the roof today. It wasn't really any more effort than doing one, after all, and hopefully there would be a number of people who needed gear.

She finished securing the ropes and started laying out the harnesses.

It had been too long since she'd done any really difficult rappelling work, and while this wasn't exactly an official sort of activity it was about the most organized such outing she'd been involved in at Fandom. She glanced over at Dinah. "You think with everyone out of the dorms anyone will show up? Or even notice?"

[Feel free to have handwavily had your character hear about exciting rappelling opportunities from either of the two blondes over the past week if you want an excuse to show up.]

If you've never jumped off of tall things with a rope before and want to learn how, ask someone for some pointers.

The roof

Where you can talk to other people who hang out up there, jump off and scream on the way down, or just boggle that anyone would do something like that when there is a perfectly good set of stairs right there.

Where you can laugh in insane glee as you hit the ground, chat with people who have just come down six stories, try climbing back up, or just gawk.

Dinah had been looking forward to this for ages. And was double and triple-checking her gear in anticipation. Wheeeeee!

"Yes! It's been way too long!" Dinah bounced and adjusted one of the straps on her waist, and grinned at Triela. "Tell me you aren't glad they finally finished construction."

After bribing Jon to look after her temporarily (she hoped) human teddy bear, Claire headed up to the dorm roof to meet Dinah and Triela.

"You're good, but you still liiiiie," Dinah sang back, attaching a carabiner to her cable. "Perfect day for it. Too bad no one's in the dorms to surprise, but still great."

"I almost thought I wouldn't be able to come," Claire said. "My French teddy bear turned into a little girl. But I convinced Jon to watch her."

Triela frowned. "Is that a general problem?" She hadn't moved her collection into the cabins, and now she was hoping they hadn't all anthropomorphized.

Claire shrugged. "I have no idea. I poked my head in my room on my way up here and the rest were normal."

"One of my teddy bears is randomly human," Claire explained. "I had to bribe Jon to keep her. She's a cute little French girl."

"Totally!" Dinah grinned, and checked. "We've got extra gear for other people, right?"

Triela let out a breath of relief. "Good."

She shook her head. "Anyway, do you want some help with your gear?"

"..." Dinah blinked at her, then laughed. "Okay, that's new. I've heard of people turning into stuff, not stuff turning into people."
