Main Campfire [Saturday Afternoon]

It was a nice day for being outside. Claire trekked into town to buy some supplies and then built a fire in the main firepit.

There were hot dogs with all the fixings and plenty of sharp sticks for roasting them over the fire. There were also marshmellows and s'more supplies on hand.

Claire and the yellow lab that was sulking because she put him out of her alcove when she changed were relaxing in front of the fire and would certainly enjoy company.

Leda was wearing an old Hawaiian shirt with faded jeans and biker boots today. And she agreed that it was a nice day for being outside.

"Hey Claire. Hey dog."

"Hi, Leda," Claire said, throwing a bit of cooked hot dog for the puppy to catch. "Jon's a puppy."

"That's Jon?!" Leda exclaimed with a laugh.

The dog in question gave a short bark and Claire nodded. "Yup. I found him that way yesterday."

"That's adorable! Are you taking lots of pictures?"

"I've taken a few," Claire said. "But he gets kinda testy."

"Why Jon I had no idea you were so grumpy. Do you need a biscuit?"

Jon barked and then laid down, his paws over his nose.

Claire giggled. "I feel bad for him."

"Hey," Leda said kindly, crouching down by her friend. "Jon you don't have to be embarrassed. From what I hear it happens to lots of people on this island."

"He'll be okay," Claire said, scritching his head. "How've you been?"

"I've been great! This place is amazing. How about you?"
