The Salle, Monday Morning
It was just a morning like any other, which meant that Arthur was in the salle, going through his forms. He was not particularly looking forward to certain students today, but he wasn't about to let that put him off. So forms, and drills, and work that maybe actually put a strain on his muscles, today.
The recent lack of invasions didn't mean he got to slack.
As per usual, he occasionally threw a look at Merlin across the salle whenever he finished a drill.

This was utterly ridiculous to feel upset about. There was nothing to be upset about. Because he was with Francine. And Arthur was... Arthur.

He sagged maybe more against Merlin's shoulder than he would strictly admit to.
"Merlin?"

He glanced sideways at the boy. "Your dancing--" he started, then stopped.

"I-- er. That's to say--"
Oh, lovely. Now he was spluttering.

He sighed once. "Not about-- dancing--"
There might have been an arm pressed against Merlin's lower back now, though. Stupid words. Stupid everything.

See? That was a finished sentence.
He finished wrapping his arm around Merlin's waist there. Not that he'd-- do anything.

This was... new.

Then let go. "You should-- talk to Francine." Or something.

He shot Merlin a slightly helpless look. "--want to impose."

He'd just like to go sit somewhere in a corner until this made sense.

"All right," is what he said, and then began to rise.
