Main Campfire [Saturday, Laaaate Morning]

When food fell from the sky, the logical next step really just had to be eating it, no matter if you weren't entirely sure where they came from. Just saved her a trip into town on a Saturday to pick something up from JGoB or the Perk.

So Angela was out (with an umbrella, just in case of another surprise shower) nibbling pieces from each of the various different flavours to see which really was the best.

The fact there was presumably still an underwear covered antenna right there, might just have made her choice of campfire that bit easier. So much entertainment to be had from that.

[[It is campfire, and therefore waaaay open!]]

"Careful," Karla warned, "you say that now, but you'd be surprised with what I might ask about and how long I can keep questions up. In a lot of ways, I'm coming to subjects with no prior knowledge about stuff. Like karate," she added with a smile.

"It's a martial art," Priestly offered. "A precise and ancient form of hand to hand combat. And the people who do it are graded with belts of different colors. White for beginners, then yellow, orange, red, etc., until you get to black, which is the most advanced level."

"For us, White is the lightest Jewel and Black the darkest!" Karla explained happily. "Everyone else I talk to always thinks it's odd that Black is better than White. Finally! Something graded right."

"I think in karate it has something to do with ninjas."

"Isn't that a slur?" Karla said, trying to remember Leda's explanation. "Ninja say what? Something to do with dark-skinned people?"

Karla learning from Leda. The blind leading the blind.

Priestly blinked at her in confusion. Then his eyes went wide.

"Oh nononononononono. A ninja is a type of warrior from Japan. The slur is . . . a different word entirely which I'm totally not going to say in part because my mun refuses to even type it. Two completely different words."

Which is totally okay by Karla's mun!

"Oh, okay," Karla said, chewing on her lower lip. "Then 'ninja say what' is okay to say?"

Karla liked being offensive, but only to specific people and for specific reasons. Both Leda and Priestly's reactions had been enough to convince her that it was not a word to throw around lightly, not like Ben's 'kreetle.'

"Well, it's likely to confuse people. But, yeah, there's no particular reason why that phrase would be offensive unless someone misheard you."
