The Salle, Monday Morning

Radio was right, really. Sun or shine or massive emotional meltdown of epically confusing proportions, Arthur would always be in the salle, whether it be on Monday morning or the morning of just about any other day. He was mulish about that. Unwilling to slack. The whole lot of it.

Also, playing with sharp objects made him feel better about the complicated mess that was his life right now.

He wasn't exceptionally vicious at all, but rather controlled, focused, and more than happy to take to his work while Merlin went about his chores in the salle. Yes.

Dinah came in yawning, and nodded to Merlin and Arthur as she walked over to the sword rack. "Morning, guys." Wearing her BOUNCY CHEERFUL HELLION T-shirt, of course.

"Hello, Dinah," Merlin added, ignoring the terrifying cheer of that shirt as he sharpened one of Arthur's swords.

Dinah smirked at Arthur, and said, "I had them made up for the other girls in my cabin. Even Katina." She grinned at Merlin. "I gave one to Francine last night." She started her drill, concentrating on her sword.

Anybody started touching anybody else, she was turning around and pretending to be deaf. Oo, did she have her iPod with her?

"I doubt Katchoo would kill her, Arthur." Really now. "How is--is she feeling better?"

Dinah took a second to realize he meant Francine, and wow, the Awkward just arrived. "Um. Not so much when I saw her. Rough flight, and I guess her trip wasn't all that great." And then I told her to talk to you. Today, she felt like that had been stupid. But even in that, there was some relief. If she'd been stupid, there was no problem. "She gave me cookies her mom made, then I think she was going to sleep."

Dinah was half-way through the drill now, bruises from last night not bad enough to slow her down, and doing better than she had last week.

"A lot of cookies," Merlin added helplessly, having helped with those.

"Yeah." Okay. Something was... off again. Dinah couldn't even say what it was this time. Ignore it. Second, third, slash, cut-parry-block. "I don't underestimate Angry. But still. She'd yell enough to give me warning."
