Halfway up the stairs from the lobby, Wednesday Afternoon

Robin sat to the side, so no one would trip over him, singing.

He was giving serious thought as to whether or not he should stay in Fandom. He'd reached his limit on people not believing he was real. And then the cat food guy had kicked him off the roof. Literally kicked him off. It hadn't hurt, not physically. But there was only so much a frog could take.

[Open, but Emo Frog warning.]

Shilo was heading up to her room after work and heard the singing, and was quietly standing on the previous flight of stairs for a moment before proceeding. "Hi Robin," she said when she saw him, in a I-wasn't-deciding-whether-or-not-to-bug-you-just-then sort of way.

Weirded out by dreaming about killing a teacher I haven't even had any classes with or met, confused about randomly falling asleep at work... Shilo considered saying, but sat down next to Robin instead. "I'm okay. Not great, but okay. How are you?"

"Why wouldn't people believe that you exist?" Shilo asked, raising an eyebrow. "Because you're a talking frog?"

"Oh Robin." She opened her arms in the classic "if you need a hug I'm right here" gesture. "I'm so sorry."

Agnes frowned down at him. "Robin? Are you all right?"

Agnes sat down next to him. "This has to do with your posters, doesn't it?"

"Tybalt's a jerk," Agnes pointed out. "Don't mind him." She shrugged. "But... You are a walking, talking stuffed animal. Some people might take time to get used to that."

Momoko was a bit surprised to find Robin singing on the stairs. She listened for a moment, and, when she got a chance, gave him a wave and a smile. "Hi Robin! Is this your new place to practice?"
heromaniac: (smile happy eyes closed)

[personal profile] heromaniac 2009-07-30 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Whoops! "Ah? Am I interrupting, then? I can leave if you wanted to be left alone!" She hesitated. It seemed an awfully weird place to sit and think. "Or maybe I can help? Is it homework?"
heromaniac: (thinking)

[personal profile] heromaniac 2009-07-30 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Not homework? Well at least he wasn't as gloomy as he'd looked a moment ago!

Momoko nodded, folding her arms as she leaned against a wall and looked past him, up the stairwell. "I can understand that. Really it's an odd place! I personally prefer going out to a nice cafe or maybe just taking a freefall off the roof walk." She shrugged. She had odd habits of her own. "But it all depends on you, I guess. And what you need."

Which in her case was usually sugar or hugs.
heromaniac: (sweatdrop Weird)

"..."

Momoko was confused. "But, you do."

He did, right?
heromaniac: (Lame!)

[personal profile] heromaniac 2009-07-31 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Momoko frowned. "That's so mean! You told them, right? Who would think that? I know Fandom is weird, but you're you; you're not an hallucination. You're not even a monster! Don't they understand about the different worlds thing?"
heromaniac: (willpower)

[personal profile] heromaniac 2009-07-31 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
"If they think everything here is an hallucination, they're not going to get very far. Wait until they get turned into an animal or they become a kid or get attacked by Christmas garland or harpies! See how far that sort of thinking gets them!"

"Oh!" Her eyes lit up and she stomped a foot. "I should go and tell them a thing or two! Even if they think something, it's not always okay to say it! And especially if it made you feel bad!"
heromaniac: (grr frown)

[personal profile] heromaniac 2009-08-02 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
"But it's not you, Robin!" Momoko pointed out, still fuming. "I mean it is you but it's more! If they're thinking that about you, what about Worf? Or maybe Lion-o, when he comes back? And anyone new who comes next semester! It's just rude to say mean things to someone just because they look different. Their parent must be incredibly ashamed!"

Which was pretty much what her parents had told her when Momoko had complained about the mean kids at her old schools, only not quite as growly. She dropped to sit beside him, arms still crossed. Hopefully no one wanted to use the stairs. "If anyone says anything to me, I'm not gonna hold back, okay?"
heromaniac: (no)

[personal profile] heromaniac 2009-08-02 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Momoko nodded, reached into a pocket to pull out a bag of gummy candy, offering him first dibs. "And if they say anything like that again, you have to stand up for yourself! Otherwise you're getting beat up by two, and that's not fair!"
heromaniac: (oh yeah!)

[personal profile] heromaniac 2009-08-02 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Momoko beamed at that, and leaned over to bump him lightly with her shoulder if he didn't move away. "Good, good! If you don't stand up for yourself, then no one else will want to, either!" She popped a candy into her mouth. "And next time you feel sad you can come see me and I'll listen. We can even go for cake! That always makes me feel better!"
