Monday Evening - Deck

The sun had set, and darkness was falling, but Rose didn't want to go up to her room.  She also couldn't quite shake the feeling that something was going to come out of the trees, and that it wasn't safe to stay outside without a weapon or a patrol.

Which was the reason that Rose sat down in one of the chairs, trying not to think about anything other than fun way she'd spent the afternoon and playing with her phone until it was late enough to text Lissa.  She wasn't going to let some stupid fear worry about a world that wasn't hers drive her inside before she was good and ready to go, dammit. 

[Not having a roof on the deck, it seems to be open!]

After the way the weekend had gone, Zayne wanted to catch up with Rose at some point outside of class. So when he spotted her by the deck, he felt compelled to stop by.

"Hey," he said, walking up. "How are you doing?"

Elle was having one of those awkward days where she didn't know what to do with herself. So she settled for wandering out to the deck.

"Rose, hey," she said with a cautious smile.

"Zayne," she said, looking up from where she was totally beating that stupid ball game on her phone to give him a smile. "I'm pretty much hoping there aren't any mosquitos that are going to come out in a moment and decide to eat me."

"Little sis," Rose replied, smiling back. "What's up wit you?"

Helen just needed to get outside for a bit, so she made her way out to the deck. "Hey," she said quietly to the other girl there.

After failing to meditate in class, Griff had attempted to clear his head sketching in the preserve. Once it grew dark, however, he'd retreated back, stopping at the deck when he saw a bit of light.

"Glad to see we all made it back," he remarked, taking a seat and trying to smile a little.

"There are sprays that could help you with that," Zayne pointed out. "They don't smell great, but they work."

"Evening," she said, giving her a little wave. "I'm Rose in case you're as crappy with names as I am."

"Helen," she offered. "And yes, sometimes I am. It's a nice evening, isn't it?"

"Not a lot," Elle said with a shrug as she took a seat near Rose. "Just glad to have everything here back to normal again."

"Good to see you too," Rose said, giving him a smile back.

"Gross," she said, wrinkling her nose. "Also they're inside and I'm not. We'll all live."

"You failed to provide food," he said, looking around. "This can't bode well."

Rose glanced over, looking at Elle for a long moment and wondering about the similarity in look to that Veronica chick. Weird. Probably like that Priestly and Dean thing.

"You and me both," she said, making a face. "And we even had to have class today."

Rose eyed the darkness for a moment, seeing a good way into it but still feeling a chill running down her spine. "It's not cold or anything," she agreed. "But it's never cold here."

Taking refuge in talking about the weather. Nice one, Rose.

She made a face. "I'm not anyone's mother," she said. "Why should I feed 'em?"

"I am so jealous of the Destiny and Free Will class," Elle said with a pout. "They got to watch a movie and take a nap."

"Because the natives will get restless," he told her. "Though, after dealing with vampires, I think we could hold them off." Remember Griff, that strength wasn't yours.

"We watched a movie in Sex Ed," Rose admitted. "I couldn't sit still for it so it wasn't all that."

"We'll totally kick their asses if we have to," Rose agreed, giving him a quick grin. "So there better not be any restless nativing."

"But at least they didn't have to deal with the crazy that is Deadpool," Elle pointed out.

"Compared to my world it is often quite cold," Helen said. "But I find it much nicer here overall."

Rose nodded, flicking her phone off and putting it in her pocket. "What kind of a world do they come from? Cause it kinda sounded like all of it was from their lives."

"As long as everyone walks away alive at the end of the night, I think that's fair enough," Zayne agreed.

"Always a plus really," Rose said dryly.

...no really, needed something else other than the weather. Rose landed on something from like the one radio broadcast she'd listened to ever.

"Oh, you work with the horses, right? Do you like horses?"
