The Salle, Friday Evening

It had been a weird day. The kind of weird day she'd missed badly on her trip home, granted, but when faced with George who usually looked like Jacen suddenly looking like Jaina and flirting with her, Tahiri would almost rather have opted for facing another Yuuzhan Vong fleet.

But given that the last one she'd faced had ended up pretty much obliterated and when it came down to it she really wasn't in a hurry to find another one, she was just going to have to settle for lightsaber practice. She hadn't had much time to do that on her trip, either, and she had lost time to make up for.

You'd think having a remote flying around shooting energy bolts at you wouldn't be that comforting. In this case you'd be wrong.

"Tahiri?" Ben called just before entering the salle.

In a high-pitched girl's voice.

Tahiri recognized his presence in the Force, but the voice definitely threw her off long enough for her to get zapped by the remote.

"Ow!" Deflecting one more stun bolt, she shut the remote down and turned toward the door, laughing. "Oh, Ben. You too?"

He sighed and yanked at his braid. "Yes. It's annoying."

"No, annoying is George looking like Jaina and flirting with me," Tahiri said, and waved him in. "You're, um . . . you're kind of cute."

Um.

[momslilassassin]

"George was flirting with you?" Ben scowled. "Really?"

[weetuskenraider]

"Yes." She was scowling too. "It's weird enough when he looks like himself!"

[momslilassassin]

"He flirts with you when he looks like Jacen?"

[weetuskenraider]

"I know!" Yeah, you don't look half as intimidating with a lightsaber in your hand when you're flailing, Tahiri. "I keep telling him it's weird!"

"It's icky," Ben said, pouting.

[weetuskenraider]

"Yeah, I am definitely not a fan," Tahiri told him. "It is so weird seeing you pout when you look like that."

[momslilassassin]

"It's weird to look like this," Ben said. "I think I shrunk about six inches overnight."

[weetuskenraider]

"It's weird sensing you, and not seeing you," she answered, making a face. "Oh, shut up. You're still taller than me."

[momslilassassin]

"That's because you're practically Jawa sized," he said, grinning.

Tahiri reached out to poke him -- her? Weird. "I'm not that tiny!"

[momslilassassin]

"You are," Ben retorted maturely, poking her back.

[weetuskenraider]

"I am not!" Tahiri hooked her lightsaber to her belt and went for the two-handed poking maneuver. Fine couple of Jedi Knights they were, weren't they? "But I'm enjoying not having to strain my neck looking up at you for once."

"Think it'd be completely weird for me to kiss you?" Ben asked.

Tahiri looked around, like she was wondering if anyone had heard that. "Maybe a little weird? I can tell you're still you, though."

[momslilassassin]

"Do the squirrels?" he asked, glancing around too.

[weetuskenraider]

Tahiri grinned and raised her voice. "You mean do they know you're really my boyfriend, and you don't really look like this the rest of the time?"

[momslilassassin]

"All short and top-heavy," he added for effect.

[weetuskenraider]

Tahiri looked down at . . . yeah. Weird. "You're not that top-heavy."

[momslilassassin]

"Karla was jealous of them," Ben said with a little smile. "I don't get it."

[weetuskenraider]

"Well, I can see why. I mean, they are pretty nice," Tahiri began, then stopped as her eyes bugged out. "I can't believe we're having this conversation."

[momslilassassin]

"I know," Ben said, blushing furiously. "I think Emma was checking them out in class, too. Is that what it's like to be a girl all the time?"
