Fourth Floor Common Room [evening]

When Sookie had first discovered the wonder of I Love the New Millenium back in January, she had found it to be an extraordinarily valuable resource. However, she'd only managed to catch the first few years.

So imagine her delight when, while flipping through the channels on the television in boredom Thursday night, she discovered she was just in time for years 2005-2007.

"Martha Stewart," she said to no one in particular, glaring at the television. "Gran would be so disappointed in you if she knew the kind of trouble you got yourself into! I should write her right now and tell her to stop making your pine cone bird feeders!"

Sookie needed to get out more.

So did Elle, which was why she was invading a common room that wasn't hers. Shush, it was practically one of the official Fandom High pastimes.

"Why are you talking to the TV?" Elle asked as she wandered in, plopping down on a couch.

"Hm? Oh! I was more just talkin' to the air. Martha Stewart got herself arrested!" Sookie said unhappily.

After Mirax's visit, Bobby wasn't feeling the need for pillow-death anymore but was still sort of... weirded out by Warren's response to the whole picture thing. Which is why he was checking out various common room freezers in search for comfort food in the form of ice cream.

He finally found some on the fourth floor, and so after rummaging around for a spoon flopped down on the couch with a dramatic sigh.

"You know she can't hear you, right?"

"How the hell'd she do that?" Hey, when you were from 1999, you needed to know these things.

"I know, but she got herself arrested, Bobby! Martha Stewart!" she exclaimed upsettedly.

"Insider trading," Sookie recited, just a touch sadly.

Adam ventured into the common room in search of something cold to drink. He'd been trying to figure out how to get his things home, considering he'd be in Disneyland over the weekend.

"Something wrong?" Adam asked, having caught the tail end of what she'd said.

"Martha Stewart went to jail," Sookie said sadly.

Way to be way behind things, Sook.

"... then she's an idiot."

Of course, Elle thought that more because the woman had gotten caught than anything else, but hey.

Yeah, Adam was kind of behind things too. The kid was from the late '90s anyway.

K-Mart had already handwavily rummaged in the other common rooms, so now she was up on the fourth floor going through the cabinets. Every so often she'd glance back over to the TV.

"What, again?" Look, it wasn't like he was observant enough to notice just what she was watching, okay? In fact, be impressed that he was observant enough to know that Martha Stewart had been arrested in the first place.

Eve didn't have much time left in Fandom, even though she'd be staying until the absolute latest she could, so after work she changed clothes and went to lurk in the common room.

"This is one of those I Love The something or others, isn't it?"

"I don't even know what insider trading is," Sookie admitted shyly. "But she shouldn't've done it."

"...in 2005?" Sookie ventured. She wasn't sure if it'd happened more than once now. That was an even worse thought.

"She shouldn't have gotten caught, that's for sure," Elle said. "Greedy bitch, trying to make more money than the crapload she's already got."

Hey, even in Elle's time (okay, Sookie's as well), the woman was well off.

"But that was forever ag- ooooh right the time travel thing," Bobby realised. "My mom was totally upset about that. My dad was just all 'well, serves her right'."

"She got arrested!" Sookie said, shaking her head. "I don't know how she sank so low."

Adam was kind of shocked.

"Me either," he frowned. "Remind me not to tell my mother. She'd be so disappointed."

"2005," Sookie noted, nodding. "It's like research for me!"

"My gran's gonna be so sad if I tell her," she noted woefully. "She loves her. Even if she's a Yankee."

"Does she even know you're in The Future?" Bobby asked. And yes, he totally spoke the words with capital letters.

Sookie did everything she could to not raise her brows at the language there. "Well, she shouldn't have done it in the first place. It's amoral and she's got a ton of money already, doesn't she? Why does she need more?"
