The Roof, Friday Evening

Jean was up on the roof again because that was totally where you met fun people and not creeps at all.

Really.

Sighing as she sat on the ledge, feet over the side, Jean tried to pick up what looked like a candy wrapper on the ground. It could easily be explained as the wind!

[[Open roof is open!]]

Bobby was totally fun people! Who she'd already met, sure, but details. "Jeeeean," he drawled, sitting down beside her. "What'cha dooooing?"

"Yeah?" he gave her a look that pretty much said 'please say you're staying'. "Please say you're staying?" Yeah, little bit transparent sometimes. No pun intended.

"So that's a yes?" Bobby said hopefully. "I mean, if they need you back there, you should absolutely go, but if you can stay, I like having you here," he admitted.

Bobby was pretty much doomed to eternally be the little brother, at least as far as certain people were concerned.

"Always glad to be of service," Bobby grinned back at her. "Hey, you realize as of tomorrow we won't be new kids anymore?"
longislandiceme: (serious)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Totally," Bobby nodded. "We'll wake up and this'll all be old-hat."
longislandiceme: (grin)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
"You'll be awesome at being a big-sister type," Bobby told her. "This much I know from experience, at least."
longislandiceme: (confused)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Nope," Bobby shrugged. "I wonder how come you did and I didn't?" Probably had something to do with Bobby not even being aware of any sort of sign-up process for that.
longislandiceme: (smile)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Ooooh," Bobby nodded. "I totally missed that. Maybe next time. It'd be kind of neat to not be the little brother for once."
longislandiceme: (looking up)

"Like a practice run!" Bobby replied. Because you should totally refer to people as 'practice runs', Drake. "Do you have a name or anything yet? Or is it like when we got here and you don't find out till the actual picnic?"
longislandiceme: (dorkface)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Aww, man, now I'm gonna have to wait and find out," Bobby wrinkled his nose at Jean. "Patience is not one of my many, many virtues." Never you mind that he'd only just found out Jean was getting a fake sibling like five minutes ago.
longislandiceme: (eyeroll)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
"So? That's like forever when you're me." At least he was honest about it.
longislandiceme: (mock-pout)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, Jean, you wound me!" Bobby cried dramatically, clutching at his heart and leaning backwards so that he fell off the edge of the roof. In the direction that didn't end with him going splat on the lawn, thank you.
longislandiceme: (aw shucks)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Uh huh," he nodded from where he was sprawled along the, uh, floor of the roof. "Ethics, though I don't know if I'll get in to that one, apparently it's really popular? And Humorous History. And, uh..." he mumbled something incoherent.
longislandiceme: (worried)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Sex Ed," Bobby said. Still very quietly, though at least this time he didn't mumble.
longislandiceme: (bitchface)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
"You totally made a face," Bobby complained.
longislandiceme: (bitchface)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Jean. I'm fifteen. I need to know these things!" Yeah, not helping, Bobby.
longislandiceme: (hanging out on rooftops)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
"It's either this or emailing War to ask about these sorts of things," Bobby pointed out. That was what billionaire playboy friends were for, right? He definitely wasn't about to mention the word 'sex' in front of Scott like ever. Hank would just give him a biology lecture. The Professor was all, you know, old... and his Jean? No. Just no.
longislandiceme: (aw shucks)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Not really?" Bobby shrugged. "Classes at Xavier's were kind of um. Off the beaten track?" Because Fandom High's were so normal.
longislandiceme: (confused)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
"...No?" Bobby shrugged. "Why would I do that?"
longislandiceme: (shrug)

[personal profile] longislandiceme 2009-08-29 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Another shrug. "We took a lot of assessment tests mostly." Xavier was... maybe a tad too focused on training them to use their powers, yes.

Bobby took the hand up and pulled himself back into a sitting position. "Yet another weird difference between our worlds, huh?"

"Well there's cheerleaders," Bobby pointed out, because by some wonder of wonders, he'd actually noticed- and read- the posters last week. "So they must cheer for something, right?" He might not be a fresh-off-the-plane newbie anymore, but clearly there were some things about Fandom he just didn't know yet. Like the fact that the cheerleaders existed despite a lack of anything to cheer for.
