Third Floor Common Room, Late Sunday Morning

Kate had partaken in free common room breakfast on her first morning at Fandom High, so today she thought she’d return the favor.

Unfortunately pancakes were beyond her abilities and she didn’t want to call her brother for help, so she made a safe fruit salad instead. There was a big bowl of it on the kitchen counter, and it was meant for anyone who happened to make their way into the common room, new and old students alike.

She also had all her leftover chocolate coins in a smaller bowl on the table.

Valentine was sort of mid-yawn when she came into the common room in search for breakfast, her hair still a bit of a mess with the remnants of an escape from her braid through the night. She gave a sleepy smile to Kate already there.

Later in the morning, Azula had enough of her room and decided to hunt for breakfast. She really needed to get a map of this place soon.

She entered the common room and saw Kate, "Good morning, is this where we find breakfast?"

See? She can be polite. After all, she was civilized.

"Morning," Kate replied with a slightly less sleepy smile, looking up from the magazine she was leafing through. "Help yourself to fruit salad."

Jaime was used to waking up early. He was also used to living in a time zone two hours behind. So stumbling into the common room late in the morning was not something he had expected.

"Man am I hungry," he announced to no one in particular.

"Good morning, this is the place for that, yes," Kate grinned. "There's fruit salad if you want some, and other stuff in the cupboards if you want to make something else."

"Morning, Jaime," Kate smiled at him between spoonfuls of fruit salad. "You've come to the right place."

"Is this part of the third floor awesomeness?" he asked with a grin. Then he held his hand up quickly to cover a yawn before wandering over to the fruit salad.

"I do," Azula said. She took a plate and helped herself. Serving her own food. Well. She wasn't going to complain. She'd had worse during her time leading the hunt for the Avatar. "Your work?"

"Kinda. Although, to be fair, I guess other floors might have food too," Kate grinned.

"Ooooooh, then what do we have up here that no one else does?" Jaime laughed as he grabbed a plate and started loading up.

"Yeah," Kate nodded. "I would've made something a little more complicated, but it's too early for me to do anything I haven't tried before."

"Fruit salad? That's been made by me? I can assure you none of the other floors have that."

"And is there something magical about your fruit salad?" In other circumstances he might have been asking that seriously, but the Scarab assured him that this was completely normal fruit salad.

Bwahahaha. Watch me mod the fruit salad!

"You've met me, right?" Kate smirked. "It's as magically awesome as I am."

Nooo, it was supposed to have cyanide in it!

"Huh." Jaime tried to suppress a grin. He wasn't very good at it. "That's pretty magical."

Well you should have said so, nyaaaaaa.

"Just eat it," Kate said. "You never know, some of the magic might stick."

"Oh, if that's a risk I really shouldn't." He totally munched on a big spoonful. "I'm pretty sure I'm already right at the upper limit of awesome a human body can sustain. Any more and I might explode."

"It's food I recognize," Azula said, absolving her.

"Hey, at least it will be an awesome explosion!" Kate chuckled.

"Well, obviously. But then I'd be all exploded and stuff." Jaime seemed to think that this would be a bad thing.

"Well, that's good," Kate noted, suppressing a smirk. "Oh, hey, by the way, are you familiar with ice cream?"

Someone had been listening to the radio.

"Good morning," Azula said after watching her interaction with Kate.

"But the bits of you would still be awesome! ...Okay, so maybe that would be kind of an unawesome situation," Kate admitted, reluctantly.

"Ice cream?" Azula was using the spoon, it was a utensil she recognized. She tasted the fruit salad before nodding, "Yes, I know it."

"The clean-up, at least, probably wouldn't be awesome."
