Third Floor Common Room, Late Sunday Morning

Kate had partaken in free common room breakfast on her first morning at Fandom High, so today she thought she’d return the favor.

Unfortunately pancakes were beyond her abilities and she didn’t want to call her brother for help, so she made a safe fruit salad instead. There was a big bowl of it on the kitchen counter, and it was meant for anyone who happened to make their way into the common room, new and old students alike.

She also had all her leftover chocolate coins in a smaller bowl on the table.

Valentine was sort of mid-yawn when she came into the common room in search for breakfast, her hair still a bit of a mess with the remnants of an escape from her braid through the night. She gave a sleepy smile to Kate already there.

"Morning."

"Morning," Kate replied with a slightly less sleepy smile, looking up from the magazine she was leafing through. "Help yourself to fruit salad."

"And here I was going to just go for cereal," Valentine said with a grin. "The fruit salad's probably a healthier choice than half of what's in the cupboard though, isn't it?"

"Good morning," Azula said after watching her interaction with Kate.

"Hey, Valentine," Bobby greeted. "Continuing your efforts to help make sure anyone who shares food isn't faced with the horrible fate of leftovers?"

Later in the morning, Azula had enough of her room and decided to hunt for breakfast. She really needed to get a map of this place soon.

She entered the common room and saw Kate, "Good morning, is this where we find breakfast?"

See? She can be polite. After all, she was civilized.

"Good morning, this is the place for that, yes," Kate grinned. "There's fruit salad if you want some, and other stuff in the cupboards if you want to make something else."

"Hi!" Layla said with a cheerful wave. "I'm Layla Miller. I know stuff."

Jaime was used to waking up early. He was also used to living in a time zone two hours behind. So stumbling into the common room late in the morning was not something he had expected.

"Man am I hungry," he announced to no one in particular.

"Morning, Jaime," Kate smiled at him between spoonfuls of fruit salad. "You've come to the right place."

Azula watched him enter. These were people she would be living with, it would be prudent to know these people she would be sharing space with.

"Then maybe you should eat," Layla suggested. "Hi. I'm Layla Miller. I know stuff."

"Welcome to the place where there's food, then," Valentine said, and then she gave a wave. "Hi. You're new."

"Hey, roomie," Didi greeted casually. "Sleep well?"

Bobby wandered in to the common room, saw the food, and grinned. "See, this is one of the many reasons why you're the best roomie ever."

"I know," Kate smirked. "You keep telling me that every time you get food from me."

"Hey Bobby," Layla said with a cheerful wave. "What's the good word for the day?"

"Mmmm," Layla said peering into the fruit salad. "Looks tasty and nutritious. I think the second part is a big switch for normal CR food."

"Someone has to make a little effort at healthier options sometimes," Kate smirked.

"Layla," Valentine gave the other girl a nod. "What do we know today that's interesting?"

Didi raised an eyebrow at Layla. "Hi. So I talked to Deadpool."

Didi roamed in and helped herself to a plateul of fruit salad. "Oh, wow, who made this?" she asked as she prodded at it with a fork. "It's awesome. I love how sweet melon is, don't you?"

She didn't necessarily expect an answer. It was just how she was.

"Didi, hey," Bobby waved. "It's all Kate's doing."

"I made that," Kate said with a smile. "You can get a good selection of fruits in this town."

Valentine, with a plate of her own, dutifully pointed toward Kate. And then she affixed a smile on the girl and noted, "You're new."
