Fourth Floor Common Room | Evening | 8/30

Hayley hadn't slept much since her arrival. She'd wandered back into her room after visiting the common room at the wee hours of the morning, but hadn't had anything truly restful. Even tired, though, she seemed happy and cheerful. Just ignore the bags under her eyes. She sat on a couch, her legs curled up under herself. She flipped through the channels, not staying on anything for too long. She was just in awe of it all. The colors, the shows, the clothes, the music.

This was the future for Hayley Fitzpatrick. It was awe-striking, wonderful, and terrifying.

Though deep down, she just wished she could relax enough to sleep.

[[OOC: Common Room is Open like Zatanna's legs!]]

But cradlerobber would suggest that she was interested. Cal grinned. He liked where this was going.

Now. Give him a few days and he'd be writing bad poetry about its painful futility.

"I guess that'd make me the gravedigger. And here I'd gotten used to being the distinguished older man."

"Especially a gravedigger," Cal said, still looking over at the girl even though he knew he was probably glancing over longer than was probably comfortable. If he did start freaking her out, it was probably better, anyway, before he even knew her name.

And looking at her, she really was incredibly pretty. Not exactly conventionally so. Not a redhead, either, but he did have a record with blondes now, too, and he never did like conventional. He smiled at her, while he mentally tried to keep the erratic beating of his frog-heart steady. "I knew a few people who worked at funeral homes," he offered, leaving out the part about having not only known them, but had dated them.

"Put make up on them," Cal said. "Try to make them look like they're just sleeping. Style their hair to cover up the big gun shot in the side of their head..."
