The Roof, Thursday Night
Jono had gone out today and he'd spent money.
A stupid, ridiculous amount of money the likes of which he'd never spend again, but he had needed those extra clothes, and the rest was all about sanity.
Yes, the shiny brand-new candy-apple red Fender Strat that he was practically hugging off to the side of the roof where he'd actually managed to find an outlet for his amp. That was all about sanity.
So was taking it outside. Because he figured that people in the dorms would probably like to sleep as he tried to muddle out the chords for a few songs he'd been working on months and months back, before he... you know. Blew up.
They were very mid-90's grunge.
[Oh, the roof is so very open.]

handwavy andbrain-breaking week he'd had, had decided that Fandom was really weird. Which meant that, to deal with it, he needed to get out of his space for a while and draw."Oh, uh, hey," he said, leaning back against the wall by the door. "You're pretty good."

//The artist,// he noted, nodding slightly in greeting, slightly in acknowledgement of the compliment he'd been given. //Might as well join me, if yer up here. This is my art, after all.//

Plink, plink, plingggg. Hey. Notes.

As could be evidenced by the playing. On his guitar. With the notes.
They were kind of angry notes, for a moment, there. Ignore that.

"Thanks," he said, taking a seat on a convenient flat surface. He pulled out his sketchbook and a piece of charcoal; something about Jono seemed to require the rough, soft lines.

"Hi!" he greeted Jono.

... Jono had seen stranger.
//Hullo,// he ventured, raising an eyebrow slightly as he worked on wrapping his head around the sight. //Good evening to be outside, if yer can ignore the bits of weather here and there.//
He said to the frog. Because frogs and light rain didn't go together at all. Honestly, Jono.

//Jonothon,// he replied. //And likely to be buggering off inside if the rain decides to pick up again.//

Which was why playing outside when it was trying to rain was an absolutely brilliant idea.

"I always forget the names of songs," Didi told him. "The Beatles? Do you know 'In My Life'?"

A beat.
//Unless yer don't mind...?//

He mulled on that for a moment more, and then he gave his shoulders a shrug and sat up again, turning his attention to the music.
The opening notes, and then... singing.
//There are places I remember...//
