Around the Dorms; Sunday Afternoon [ 09/13 ].

Tomorrow, she'd gone around giving out some candy, but now was really where her name started to get out. She should have probably gotten these up ages ago, but with clubs and classes started, she just didn't have the time. She did now, though, and so Turtle Wexler was taking her nice, crisp posters, professionally done in a tasteful shade of green with white and black accents, and plastering them all over the dorms.

She smoothed one up on the wall and stepped back with a grin, nodding. Yes. That'll do nicely.

Plus she still had some candy in her bag for whoever she might run into.

"What're you doing?" Triela asked curiously when she spotted Turtle with her stack of posters.

"Putting up Student Council posters!" Turtle explained brightly, glancing Triela's way with a big grin. Then she rolled her eyes a little. "I know, I know. I should have gotten them up lots earlier than this, but there was so much to do with clubs that I couldn't get to it until just now. Not that I'm making excuses, of course."

Triela cocked her head thoughtfully. "Why?" she asked eventually. "What does student council even do?"

"I want people to vote for me," Turtle said. "No one's going to vote for me if they don't know who I am and what I stand for. And you know all those dances through the school year? That's something Student Council does. And fundraise money for the school and listen to what the student body would like to see happen in the school and try to make it happen. We're like the government, but on a school level."

"So.. you don't order assassinations.."

Triela thought for a moment more. "Is it interesting?"

Turtle blinked at Triela. Sometimes, she just straight out forgot about all of that stuff.

"Yeah, no assassinations. Unless, like, something attacks, but I wouldn't really call that assassinations. And of course it's interesting! I personally love it! Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered doing it again for the third time, right?"

Triela nodded slowly. "Yeah, that makes sense."

She frowned in thought. "Do you think I'd be any good at that?"

"You don't know until you try, right?" Turtle asked with a grin, tilting her head as she considered Triela's frown. "Give it a shot, Triela. Can't hurt, right?"

Plus, if Triela got in, she could vote for Turtle for president...

"I don't really know what to do. Just... make posters?"

"Make some posters," Turtle said with a nod, "I can help if you'd like. But it's more than just that, too. A good candidate will go around and talk to people and get to know them. Not to campaign out right, because some of the best campaigning you can do is just going out there and being yourself."

Triela thought about that some more, frowning. "It wouldn't be too much trouble for you to handwavily help me with things? I mean, don't you have your own stuff to do?"

"Oh, please." Turtle snorted slightly, waving a dismissive hand. "I've been practically campaigning since May, and you've only got a few days. I'd love to help, Triela!"

There was no way Triela could keep from grinning at that. "You're the best, Turtle."

She paused again. "Where do I start? Do I need to come up with a big essay thing like you have?"

There was a pause. Turtle frowned for a second at her poster.

"That is not an essay!" she insisted.

"Oh." Triela blinked and took some time to read it again. "What is it called, then?"

That was a pretty good question, actually.

"Enthusiasm," Turtle finally informed Triela after a moment to think about it.

"But, no, yours doesn't have to be that long. I just have a lot of...enthusiasm."

"So you think I could get elected without the same amount of enthusiasm, then?" Triela just wanted to double-check.

"Well, what I'm saying," Turtle said, "is that the enthusiasm will give you a better chance of being elected, but might not necessarily be...necessary. Couldn't hurt, though."

"Okay." Triela nodded decisively. "I think I'll try it."
