trigons_child: (Lying on the couch)

Third Floor Common Room, Sunday evening

Following a discussion with Max about love, and then seeking advice from Lady Aphrodite, Raven still had questions, so she decided to consult the TV for research. Because that would be so helpful, right? She would've gone to the common room on her own floor, but Sookie posted first was watching something with vampires, which made Raven flaily, so she quietly fled downstairs and claimed the third floor.

She was settled on the couch, flipping through the channels. Football. No. Criminal Forensic Detectives? Ew, no. The same went for Criminal Brains. The movie called 300 seemed nothing but violence and bloodshed, and the "Video Music Awards" were just confusing.

And then she landed on the channel called "AMC" and found a movie called Top Gun. It seemed yet another movie devoted to men shooting things, this time with planes, but before she could turn the channel, a new scene began, and all she could do was stare at the TV.

"I, for one, would support my school all the more with offerings such as these," she replied.

"I'd pay attention to the cheerleaders if they did this," she noted. "Rather than ignore them in favor of the retention of my sanity."

"...well, no. I was exaggerating," she admitted reluctantly. "Mostly I find the chanting and waving of the little puffy things to be irritating."

"That would make infinitely more sense," Aravis said, eyes wide. "It does sound like prayer, almost! I thought it was just some odd little ritual for ritual's sake, but perhaps they believe there is some weight behind it."

"I'd never thought of cheerleading being any sort of faith-based activity," Aravis mused. "The tiny skirts, however, seem to contradict any sort of religious affiliation. In my experience, in any case."

"There are surely some, though they may be false gods," Aravis decided. "Gods of sex or love would certainly welcome offerings of flesh, I'm sure."

[omg totes! :D]

"...I know I would, if I were a god," Aravis said, looking back to the screen. "Assuming I had eyes."

[PERHAPS SOMEDAY I WILL FORGIVE YOU.]

"The beautiful thing about this," Aravis noted, "is that there is surely some reproduction of this on one of those shiny discs, or a computer, and we can watch it again once it ends."

[A LIKELY STORY.]

"Possibly!" Aravis said, brightening. "The library has nearly everything!"

"You should ask someone who knows about the innertent," Aravis said uncertainly. "Internalet. It's a word like that. It seems to have everything."

"Nor do we in Archenland," Aravis mused, "so I have only a basic understanding. But I'm fairly certain that must be their purpose."
