Salle, Monday Morning

After a week, showing back up in the salle was turning back into the calming ritual that it had been. And at least he hadn't gotten abducted to anything this weekend (if you didn't count Zack's birthday party, which he'd been dutybound to show up to no matter what) so it was with reasonable calm that Arthur made his way down into the salle with his sword, picked a good spot, and went to work.

He might even get a few drills in before Tweety showed up. That would be encouraging.

Merlin, of course, was back to work in the corner, and got his usual occasional glance. Or text message.

At least he was finally admitting Brynne was a girl.

"But I'm sure she gets bored of being cooped up." Swing, thrust, parry. "Which was really obvious for Tony last week. What if I just give her one treat? Not a whole ton?" Proving Dinah's negotiating skills still needed work.

"Mean. Mean, mean, mean." Footwork. First, second, third positions. "Depriving Brynne of treats. Don't you love your dog?"

Dinah wondered if practicing with weights on her legs would be a good idea; then decided it would be too distracting, at least until she got her strength up. It'd be a way to distract Arthur at some point, though.

Dinah veered and blocked, feeling the blow down to her elbows, and blinked, concentration back on her training, then parried and tried to land a blow on his arm.

"... have you heard any rabid cats?"

Hey, had to keep him awake somehow.

Dinah would cry a tear of joy that he was using 'bantering' in a sentence, but she was a little too busy trying to follow up and knock his sword out of his hands at this time.

Also, thinking that a kick there might be a good idea.

Damnit! Thud.

Well, she didn't let go of her sword, and took a swipe at his knees while she scrambled back upward.

Dinah growled and got back into position, looking only marginally mortified. "Someday," she muttered under her breath, then shook herself all over, and re-assumed the correct stance.
