The Roof, Thursday Evening

So someone was now in student council. Therefore, someone was on the roof--a place that was always smart to go when you were her--celebrating.

With diet Coke and a book.

But that's what she was doing. So. Nyah.

Effy wandered up to the roof to smoke, mostly out of habit, these days. Not like she had a roommate to bug with her bad habits anymore, and she gave Jean a cursory glance as she made her way to the edge.

It was only after she'd settled, and pulled out her pack that she decided to open her mouth. "Not what I usually see people doing up here."

Look, it was better than ignoring the other girl, or just watching every once in a while out of the corner of her eye.

But that was what Jean saw people up here doing. Though, on the plus side, Effy was less likely to grope her.

So... she had that going for her. Which was nice.

"It's such a nice night, though!"

Mostly, Effy saw the other people smoking up here. Although, if she was honest, she'd probably read up here too. Just... in the daytime. Somehow, that made all the difference.

"It's not raining." Which placed it above most autumn evenings in England. "I'll give it some points."

And no, Effy probably wouldn't grope her. One of her better qualities.

Jack flashed a quick smile at Effy. "Have you recovered from our detention yet?"

"Getting there," she replied, quirking her lips in a bit of amusement herself. "Not being plagued by stray thoughts of Vin Diesel now."

No, she didn't really ever have that problem. But she could always make room for the odd little sarcastic joke. "You?"

Jack was in a mood for a cigar for no reason in particular. He nodded a greeting at Jean as he went over to the railing to light up.

"Nice night, isn't it?"

Leda wandered up onto the roof today, randomly realizing she missed the smells of Bordertown. Sometimes when the wind blew right you could smell all sorts of interesting things from the Never Never.

But hey, the smells here were nice too. A lot less car exhaust for instance.

It seemed a nice evening to come up, lounge around, and just relax. She also had "Mummer's Dance" stuck in her head.

"Hey." she waved to the pretty girl she didn't remember if she'd met or not. "Hope I'm not disturbing you."

Bobby had heard the Student Council announcement, so he figured he'd see if Jean was around anywhere and offer her congratulations on that. After checking the common rooms with no luck, he figured he might as well try the roof. And ooh look! There she was.

"Jean! Just the redhead I was looking for."

"Booooobby," Dinah caroled from the other side of the roof. "What did you get busted for?"

Chuck was up on the roof to do normal things like smoke, thank you. Pfft, reading and Diet Coke. Jean was so weird.

"Hello, Jean," he said when he spotted her. "Congratulations on student council."

Jono... was finding himself in need of making some noise. And, considering once he actually started to play he wasn't likely to stop until the wee hours of the morning, he decided that it would be in good form to bring his guitar up to the roof again.

So that he could play music that was entirely not emo in a manner that had nothing to do with blue fairies. Shut up.

Wow. Lots of people up here. Dinah had gone up to practice some air-walking, but no way was her concentration up to it now. It was up to asking, "Whatcha reading?" of the red-haired girl she didn't know, though, and look around for people she did know.

Azula was curious about the lay of the island, if this was to be her home for some time she wanted to familiarize herself with the territory. She made her way to the roof and paused.

She didn't realize roofs were so popular in this world.
