Third Floor Common Room [Saturday Evening]

Loaded down with takeout bags from the Mexican place, Bobby was beginning to detect a bit of a theme in regards to this island and his attempts to order food. Namely, that everyone seemed to insist on giving him way more than he'd actually ordered.

Not that he was complaining, because 1) food was awesome and 2) it brought people out to talk to, which was also awesome.

"Nice to meet you, Lion-o," Jennifer said. "You took the summer off?"

"My father kept promising to visit me here in Fandom but kept postponing his trip, so I decided to go back and surprise him," explained Lion-o. "It turned out he was busy because he was overseeing our planet's evacuation."

"...Oh no," Jennifer said. "That sounds awful."

"I'm glad I went, though, because I got to witness the end of Thundera. It would have bothered me, knowing that I was safe here in Fandom while my people were fleeing their homes," said Lion-o. "They relocated safely on another planet similar to this one, and then I returned to finish my education."

"That'd good," Jennifer said. "Safe is definitely a good thing."

At least the Thundercats traveling on his flagship were safe. Lion-o still wasn't sure what happened to the ships of refugees that got cut off from the rest of the fleet.

"I take it that you are from Earth?" he asked, not wanting to dwell on his worries.

Jennifer nodded. "California, to be exact."

Lion-o struggled to remember his geography. "Is California far from Fandom?" he finally asked.

"It's across the United States," Jennifer said. "On the west coast, instead of the east."

Lion-o nodded. "How long have you been at Fandom? Do you like it so far?" he asked.

"Since the start of the summer," Jennifer said. "I like it a lot, actually. Lots of new and nice people."

"It's definitely been an eye-opening experience for me, and for everyone else who have not seen a Thundercat before," said Lion-o with a chuckle.

"I was wondering," Jennifer said. "You did seem to have some... feline features."

"The Thunderan people are similar to the big cats of Earth," said Lion-o. "Except for the snarfs, of course. I haven't seen anything like a snarf on this planet. Some of the dogs are kind of close, but snarfs can talk and walk upright."

It wasn't a very good explanation, but then again, Lion-o was a little slow.

"Well, except you're a lot more... manly than most cats," Jennifer said.

Lion-o's face turned red. "I did hit a growth spurt just before coming back to Fandom," he said.

Jennifer giggled a little. "I mean, you've got more man-like characteristics than the lions of Earth."

"I guess the universe is a very big place if you can get humans, cats and cat/human hybrids," said Lion-o with a chuckle.

"But congratulations on the growth spurt," Jennifer said. "You do look good."

We remind the reading audience that Jen will, eventually marry John Jameson, who turns into the Manwolf.
