3rd Floor Girls' Room, Monday Morning

For the most part, Didi liked being mortal. She loved food, she enjoyed sleep, and if there were things that were a little less enjoyable, the good parts of her life made up for it.

Then she woke up with a raging headache and a grinding cramp in her lower stomach. A few minutes later, she was in the girls' room, resting the back of her head against the cool tile as she tried to decode the instruction sheet from a box of tampons. It shouldn't have seemed nearly as complicated as it did, but, then, Didi had never exactly had to deal with this first-hand.

As soon as she'd sorted it all out, Didi vowed, she was going to eat her weight in Doritos. That might be enough to let her be her usual philosophical self about this.

[OOC: Open to girls and very brave boys who don't mind screeching. Squirrels, uh ... be discreet?]

"Thanks," Elena laughed. "I used to have this tiny, functional bob, and it's kind of in the growing-pains stages, right now. The bob was chic, but I got sick of it, you know? Wanted to actually have some hair, for once."

Didi's hair was very Goth. Elena liked it. It suited her.

"Hot pink would look amazing," Elena grinned. "Hell, you could have a few different neon streaks. Pink here, green there, it'd look awesome if you went clubbing."

"Not really," Elena said. "I tried once or twice and it just looked ... stupid, on me. Like it was a neat color for a day or two and then just faded to this really strange washed-out shade, so I'd wash it as much as possible so it'd go away entirely quickly. I don't think I have the hair for it."

She offered a quick smile. "So is your sister older or younger?"

"There were just two of us," Elena smiled. "So I've always been the bratty younger sister, the one that bitches about not being a tag-along and has to try extra-hard to outdo the older one. I always wanted a younger sister, but maybe that would have been just as messy the other way around. Do you three get along?"

"And that's what matters," Elena said, nodding. Her sister had done the same, even when the cost had been steep. Because they were sisters, dammit.

She checked her hair in the reflection -- still chaos -- and checked her watch -- fuck, she had to tear off to class.

"Good luck with the cramps," she said, washing her hands more out of reflex than for any real reason. "And if you end up doing neon streaks, I wanna see."
