Sixth Floor; Late Tuesday Afternoon and On! [ 09/24 ] -- Ino's Birthday Party!
There was hopefully no way that Ino could begrudge Cal having her party a day late, especially since it was a far cry from being a day short. The food he had planned caused him to get some use out of that sixth floor kitchen and space, and he'd been to the task ever since he finished with Oceanography class in hopes to get it finished before everyone started showing up. If they did. He'd handwavily because the mun sucks passed out the invitations through everyone's door, but who only knew with the drama of yesterday.
If no one showed up, he'd have to deal with a pouting Ino. But, on the bright side, he'd have all this delicious Greek food for leftovers basically until eternity, because there was a lot of it.
He'd even decorated a little, subtly, with some occasional touch of purple. And a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY INO!" banner in case anyone couldn't figure out what it was all about. Throw on some music, and there it was. There was nothing to the party part. It was mostly about the food, anyway.
Oh, and Ino. Her, too.
[[ up early for great SP justice! Everyone got invites, so come one, come all,but please wait for some OCD has arrived! ]]

Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
"Hi," she said. "Ino, right? I'm Didi. Thanks for inviting everyone to your party. Happy birthday."
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
"Yup, I'm Ino--nice to meet you, and well," Ino laughed, "the more the merrier, right? What'd be a party without a lot of people?"
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
"It would be sad," Didi said, almost serious. "Just you and a cake. Well, and the ball pit."
"So which birthday is this?"
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
Very very slowly inching.
"And the ball pit is totally a consolation prize if loads people don't show."
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
She glanced over at said ball pit. "I have a feeling the ball pit will see some action tonight. It's so cool the school put one up here. I haven't been in one in ages."
[OOC: Dear LJ, email my notifs, thank you.]
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
[Notifs would be nice, yes yes.]
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
Depending on your definition of innocent, yes.
"Having fun here, at least?"
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
"You taped a mummy together?" Ino asked, blinking. "Ewww. Was it super gross?"
A beat.
"Aren't there people most places?"
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
Thank you, Alex.
"And yeah, there are people everywhere. I just ... like these people. I don't usually get to stay in one place all that long."
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
Ick ick ick.
She gave Didi a considering look at that. "Sounds like a story," she commented lightly. "But some people don't like prying."
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
And then she returned Ino's look. "Yeah, there's a story, but some people don't like to use other people's birthday parties to unload their life stories. Or does that mean you want to know?"
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
"Well," she admitted, "prying is sort of a life-time career of mine," what, with the whole ninja-spying thing, "so it's really up to you on the timing? 'Cause, yeah, I want to know, but if you'd rather some other time, that's good too."
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
Her hands went into her pockets as she kept talking. "Right, so I'm Death, I'm technically only about a month old as a mortal, and, uh ... that's the highlights."
She clearly did not care if she was believed or not.
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
"...like, controls who lives and dies--that Death? Skeleton dude with scythe?"
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
"The Fates control who lives and dies. I just ... show up at the end and help you to the next world." At the start, too, but humans never remembered that. "People here are way fixated on the skeleton-and-scythe idea."
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
It was true.
"Do the Fates control everything else too? Or just dying and stuff?"
'The Fates said I'd do it' was an awesome sounding excuse for things, really.
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
(Someone had not read much Terry Pratchett.)
She tilted her head at Ino's other question. "That one all depends on how you look at it. You always have choices, though."
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
Ino grinned. "Okay," she said, nodding. "I can deal with that, I think. As long as there's choices."
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
A quick rueful smile. "Very different world," she added. "Not anywhere near this one, really."
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
Re: The Birthday Girl! -- 09/24.
"I don't know anyone who tried bargaining with him for that," she admitted, "but people can, if they're willing to pay the price, get him to do other things--like seal things up, and such. It's worth it, to some people, even if they're not 'round to see the result."
