There was hopefully no way that Ino could begrudge Cal having her party a day late, especially since it was a far cry from being a day short. The food he had planned caused him to get some use out of that sixth floor kitchen and space, and he'd been to the task ever since he finished with Oceanography class in hopes to get it finished before everyone started showing up. If they did. He'd ~~handwavily because the mun sucks~~ passed out the invitations through everyone's door, but who only knew with the drama of yesterday.

If no one showed up, he'd have to deal with a pouting Ino. But, on the bright side, he'd have all this delicious Greek food for leftovers basically until eternity, because there was a lot of it.

He'd even decorated a little, subtly, with some occasional touch of purple. And a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY INO!" banner in case anyone couldn't figure out what it was all about. Throw on some music, and there it was. There was nothing to the party part. It was mostly about the food, anyway.

Oh, and Ino. Her, too.

"I'm not exactly an expert on cute boys," Hurley said, chuckling.

"I think Penelope would complain if you were," she teased, grinning at him. "But seriously, I was the girliest boy ever."

"Which is weird, cause you're the manliest girl I know," Hurley joked, fully expecting to get smacked.

Yeaaaah.

That was getting a smack. Not a, like, super heavy one or nothing but definitely a bit of a smack.

"Heeeey!"

"I'm totally joking," Hurley said, laughing. "You're totally girly. Honest."

She studied him to see if he was actually serious.

"You'd better be joking," she said loftily.

"...Man, I can't win either way," Hurley said.

"Nope," she said, smiling brightly at him. "Especially not against me at my own party. My word is law for the night!"

"You're not gonna make me hop on one foot all night or something, are you?" Hurley joked.

"Well," she said, pretending to consider it. "I could..."

Hurley pulled a face. "I really need to not give you ideas."

"But it's so fun to see your expression!" she laughed. "And ideas rock."

"Yeeeeah," Hurley said. "I'm doomed."

"I'm nice to you," she insisted at that frown. "Aren't I?"

"Well, yeah," Hurley said. "Most of the time."

"Most of the time?"

...Ino, don't ask that.

"Well, nobody's nice all the time," Hurley said. "Plus, you're the one who goes on and on about nice not being an absolute thing, remember?"

"Just checking," she said airily. "And, really, if you thought I was always nice you'd need your head checked."

"I'm definitely not crazy," Hurley said, a teeny bit defensively.

"I didn't say you were," she noted.

Though she'd implied it, yes.

"I mean," Ino continued on, "you could totally have just, like, hit your head or something. Sugar rush."

"I hit my head then ate a bunch of pixy stix?" Hurley said. "Man, that'd be one hell of a brain frying."

"I think people'd be justified in wondering in that case," Ino had to say. "I mean, assuming you didn't just collapse or anything."

"Yeah," Hurley said. "I'm not gonna argue against that."

"Good man!" she crowed.

Hurley just acted mature and stuck his tongue out at her.
