The Roof [Tuesday, Afternoon]
Last week... last couple of weeks, actually had been made up of a few ups and downs (along with a couple of interesting interludes). Effy supposed it was all supposed to balance out so she could call it 'okay', but somehow she couldn't. Not really.
Or, not truthfully, anyway. But when was Effy ever completely honest about that sort of thing. At least she had the weekend, and Tony's visit, to look forward to. There was that.
That, and it was still nice enough, even getting into autumn, to just throw a leather jacket over her shoulders and come out to enjoy her free afternoon relaxing and reading. Nothing wrong with a bit of philosophy on your day off. Wasn't even smoking yet, even if she had the materials for it with her. She could get to that later.
[[She's completely disturbable, open roof and all.]]

"What did you do to get someone swinging a chair at you anyway?"

Like he'd miss out on the chance to say that. Come on.
"Might help."
Or just be fun.

Which wasn't really an objection to that, just her round about way of getting to these things. Couldn't help herself.

"That cover your sudden craving for sweet?" she wondered.

Easy enough to reach out with her free hand to run it lightly across his shoulder as she shifted closer. "Think I can manage that," she told him, with a quirk of a smile.

See how sweet she could be?
no subject
Yeah, he was definitely putting her in that sweet category even while he glancing down, watching her kiss his collarbone and sighing. See, he could even be a little more open with reactions if she was going to be sweet.

Sadly, with his shirt in the way she couldn't really move out further towards his shoulder, but could make up for that by flicking her tongue out to trail along the skin as she moved back to the side of his neck.
"Better?" she whispered.

Alex worked his free hand and arm around her waist, letting his hand rest lightly on her back.
"Getting better," he repeated, smiling slightly. "Almost there."

So what if resistance was shown when she was lingering this close to his lips?
no subject
Well, really, he wished that himself but self pity and a lot of anger was good for disrupting that.

Effy spent another moment, resisting the urge to do anything more than exhale a breath against his neck. "No," she decided, finally picking her head up to actually look at him. "Don't think it's keeping you down much at all."

He credited himself with remembering how they'd gotten on this track of conversation considering she was that close and he was already leaning closer to her.
[OH JESUS SUBMIT I DIDN'T HIT SUBMIT. So sorry!]
no subject
Depending on the situation, he'd probably be able to work around her again, but for now... Just this once.

But yeah, he agreed with her on the just giving up that restraint and returned that kiss eagerly, fingers sliding over her ear and down her neck, still trying to get closer but trying not to have to let go of the hand he'd been holding for awhile.
[sleep well! and grargh, sorry about that again! i'm a dope!]
