Emma had ~~handwavily~~ sent out an email to her 'dates' on Thursday, detailing her nefarious plans. She'd taken over the sixth floor, setting-up spots for hair and make-up, as well as making sure there were lots of snacks to munch on while they got ready. If other people wandered in wanting help, or just to hang out before the dance, that was fine with her too, but Emma was anticipating needing to fuss over Karla and Beka, and probably Triela and Tara.

This was totally her good deed for the month, possibly for the year. After all, someone had to set a good example.

And she was pretty sure she could get Morton and Rosto to pay for pictures of this. Details. They still had a dance to get ready for.

[OOC: Post is open to all the girls in the dorms, although the dates already know who they are. Up early for timezone/SP awesome. ETA: No, no boys allowed. If you try to peek in the door, Emma will brain-zap your butt back downstairs, and you will hiccup uncontrollably for the rest of the night.]

Emma's got various snacks sitting out: apple slices, candy, chips... but nothing that would actually require cooking. Be thankful.

Because if you came all the way upstairs, you probably want to jump in it a few times before getting all pretty.

Have someone help you futz with your hair, because it's always easier with two people working on it.

For those who are not yet competent with cosmetics.

There's a sewing kit, but good luck fixing it. Emma's not domestic in the slightest.

For the Girldate Party of Awesome, plz.

Emma went out and got a variety of flowers. Because a girl always deserves flowers, darn it, and shouldn't have to wait on a guy to get some.

Yes, I'm totes skipping work today. NYAH. I'm around, but may run out for errands and such.

Rose had brought up her kick ass dress (http://pics.livejournal.com/guardianborn/pic/0000hazw) and makeup and stuff up to the 6th floor, but she wasn't really in a hurry to get dressed up.

Instead she was hanging out and eating apple slices and wanting to see everyone else's dress.

Tara hadn't really planned on going to the dance, but Emma scared her enough that when she got the email, she went shopping and found a dress that did not freak her out too badly.

She hung near the snack table, munching on apple slices.

YOU THINK MY WORK-SKIPPING IS TOTES HOT. ADMIT IT.

Emma had brought her dress up earlier, and had it draped over the back of a chair as she snacked on some fruit. Food first, then getting pretty. She didn't want anything to ruin her gown.

"Tara. Darling." Emma appeared over her shoulder, smiling beautifully. "Tell me you brought a dress, and aren't planning on dressing like a dazed hippie."

"Ready for some fun?" Emma asked, flopping down in a chair near Rose. "I figure that with our group, we can make up at least 90% of the hotness quotient at the dance tonight. With our powers combined, no one else stands a chance."

I was so going to do that but I may have used up my sick days for other events already. *cough*

Tara mutely held up her silk-and-chiffon dress. "--- dazed hippie?" she asked, slight indignation creeping into her tone.

I'm maxed-out on vacation time again, so I was ordered to take some time off.

If all the days I selected to take off happen to match FH events, well... I'm a dork, and that's OKAY.

"Dazed. Hippie," Emma replied succinctly, looking over the dress before nodding in satisfaction. "While the seventies gave us some of the good drugs, that's no reason to look like a thrift-shop flower-child. You can appreciate the fashions without turning into a shapeless wallflower."

"... I don't dress like a thrift shop flower child," Tara said, looking down at herself. "This, this sweater is warm, and long skirts are comfy."

She was, as the cliche says, protesting entirely too much.

ONLY CAUSE IT IS.

With little else she cared to do besides shower, get dressed, and brush her hair, Kennedy was pretty much set to go for the dance by the time she made it up to the sixth floor, but she would be more than happy to help the others get ready.

These were 95% honorable intentions, but the girl had eyes, you know.

The upside to being pretty much ready meant more time to help herself to the snacks, too. Couldn't go wrong there.

"There are plenty of warm sweaters and comfy skirts in the world that won't make you look like a lump, Tara," Emma retorted merrily. "You're a pretty girl, so stop hiding behind the mismatched flower prints."

Beka's brought her dress (http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=341496&CategoryID=22120), aught else she'd have to borrow. She'd never really thought of face paint or perfums afore. She'd a feeling that'd matter little with Emma around.

Beka knew how to sew. Anyone who lived in Lady Teodorie's house knew how to sew. She'd be glad to help if anyone needed it.

Beka's eyes widened as she noticed what Kennedy was wearing. "You don't have to wear a dress?" she asked. Why hadn't Emma told her... No, that was a looby question.
