Tony had a bag of popcorn and a bomb bottle of cola and was ready for the Halloween episode of Darkest Night. Tonight, Raymond Dark and James Taylor Grant would take a road trip to a farmstead to track down a mysterious killer - could it be the scarecrow?

"Ooooh, it's that show again," Hayley said, bounding into the common room.

"Great!"

"Welcome back!" Tony smiled.

"I guess you suckered me in, last time. Now I actually want to see more," Hayley said.

"I'm very sorry," Tony said, deadpan. "Popcorn?" He offered her the bag.

"Ooooh, what a gentleman," Hayley said, grabbing some. "Why thank you, sir."

"Want some soda?" Tony reached out a hand and a clean cup flew from the the kitchen counter and smacked into his palm. He offered it to Hayley and gestured at the bottle of soda.

"...omigod how did you do that," Hayley said.

Dinah had remembered this at the last second, put on her Save the Night T-shirt, and headed to the Common Room with her own bottle of pop. "OOoooo! Halloween ep. Yes!" She grinned at Tony. "Anything we should know going into this one?"

"Don't hang around scarecrows during Halloween season?" Tony suggested. "Although that might be the moral of the story."

"I can't think why I'd hang around them during any season. They're boring. So are the cornfields. And the crows. And... I'm so glad I left Missouri." She grinned at him. "Did anything happen that made it past the outtakes, I mean?"

"Nothing I've heard of, but maybe we'll be surprised," Tony said.

"Here's hoping." Dinah leaned back and threw popcorn in her mouth. "So what are you going as for Halloween?"

"I don't know yet. I don't even know if I'm dressing up. What about you?"

"I... might," Dinah said cagily. "Already have a costume." She cleared her throat. "Which, if it looks silly? You have to tell me. So I can just put a sheet over my head."

"Save the Night?" Hayley said, tilting her head at Dinah.

"The show almost got canceled in between seasons one and two," Dinah told her, bouncing in place. "Then the fans had a big internet campaign to get it a lot of attention, and it got renewed! So they Saved the Night!"

"...how did that work?" Hayley said.

Really, no one had explained how the internet worked to her yet.

"Internet? All the computers connected together, people writing to each other?" Dinah checked. "Talking about the show?"

"...if you say so," Hayley said. "I mean, I trust ya. But I don't understand."

"Darkest Night," Tony said. "Join us!"

"Oh, that show." Take that as you will. Diana took it with some popcorn. "Scarecrows? Seriously?"

"They could totally be scary," Tony said. "Like people, but not."

Diana gave him a Look. It blew over his head and vanished. "They're made out of straw and can barely move."

"Right, so if they start moving, there's got to be something powerful running the show," Tony said.
