Second Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

Tony had a can of pop, a bag of beef jerky and a can of spray cheese. He settled in the second floor common room to watch this week's episode of Darkest Night. Tonight Raymond Dark and James Taylor Grant investigated crop circles. Aliens? Fakes? Or... something else?

"There is crop circles," Firekeeper informed her, in a tone that clearly indicated she still wasn't entirely sure what they were.

"There's what?" Tahiri wasn't going to be a whole lot of help in that department. Because that would have been hard to pull off on Tatooine farms.

"Patterns aliens make in crops," Firekeeper shrugged. "I think perhaps they have too much free time."

Tahiri snickered, scooting over to sit closer to Firekeeper and Blind Seer. "That sounds like something the Givin would do if they learned to loosen up a little."

"Givin?" Firekeeper asked as Blind Seer angled his head in a way that was totally begging for skritches. Except for how he'd never demean himself to the level of actually asking for such. He'd just assume Tahiri knew what she was supposed to do here.

Of course she knew what to do! She'd even pass it off as a secret Jedi skill if it'd save Blind Seer the trouble of having to beg. It was Diplomatic, shh.

"They're a really mathematically inclined race who look like they're all wearing Scream masks, WTF canon," Tahiri explained. "That'd be the kind of thing they'd do for fun. Although I'm not sure they know how to have fun."

She only had the vaguest idea of what 'mathematically inclined' meant, but she nodded anyway. "I think New Kelvinese would like such things, though they would be saying is magic, not aliens."

"Saying 'it's aliens' in my galaxy would be like saying 'someone did it,'" Tahiri observed wryly. "Not very helpful at all, although I guess that'd sort of make it true, if someone did it."

"If they exist, someone must," Firekeeper agreed with a nod. "Even if is magic, there is always one behind the magic."

Tahiri grinned at her. "I love it when you're unexpectedly philosophical. Blind Seer must be rubbing off on you."

And she was going to frown at that for a second and be not-so-unexpectedly literal as she puzzled out "rubbing off on you".

She then snorted and gave Blind Seer a shove. "Do not say such things! Or he get more pride. He have enough already."

"He won't get too much of a big head with me around," Tahiri declared, not that she let up skritching around his ears. "Because unexpectedly philosophical is interesting for a while, but gets to be annoying in big doses. Right?"
