Tony had a can of pop, a bag of beef jerky and a can of spray cheese. He settled in the second floor common room to watch this week's episode of Darkest Night. Tonight Raymond Dark and James Taylor Grant investigated crop circles. Aliens? Fakes? Or... something else?

"Thanks, Francine," Tahiri said, and reached for a small handful of cookies. Six was more than three, but she was hungry, okay? "Um, how have you been? I sort of haven't seen you in a while."

If she answered Ahahahahahahahaha would it make Tahiri think she was creepy? She lived in Fandom too, so there was a fairly high chance she would get it, Francine decided. Just in case, though, maybe she should keep it simple.

"Well... remember when you were telling me about Jedi seeing the future and how you don't always know if it's something that'll happen or something you can change?"

Francine didn't call her Tiny Creepy Kid or throw water on her or make fun of her on the radio, so probably not, no.

"Yeah." Tahiri gave her a curious look and pulled her knees up to her chest, listening. "What about it?"

"I wasn't exactly expecting to have to deal with that myself," Francine said, flicking the lock of white hair in her bangs with her finger. "But boy am I starting to get it now."

"Oh," Tahiri replied, focusing on the white hair, then with a hissed breath and a more sympathetic tone, "Oh. Sithspawn. I'm sorry. It really sucks void, doesn't it?"

Francine had to blink and then grin at that. "If those things are bad, then yeah. Or... I don't know if it's bad all the time, but it's sure confusing."

"Tell me about it. Keeping all the possible futures straight is impossible, even in my head." Yeah, in her head especially. "And everyone will tell you worrying about how to avoid the parts you don't like is only going to make things worse, but really, what else are you supposed to do? Not think about it?"
