"Okay, guys," Zack said, stepping to the forefront of the Reserves meeting and grinning, his hands on his hips. "Today we're going to follow the lead of the Magic Reserves, and start focusing on sharing the more specific talents of the people in this group. But with a twist! While plenty of the stuff that they have over in the Magic corps is specific to just the person giving the demonstrations, the benefit to working physically is that plenty of the skills that each of us have can be taught to one another! Maybe you've got proficiency in a weapon that nobody else here seems to know, or else you've got awesome tracking skills and think that we could stand to learn how to use them, too! Or you might have something as simple as a training exercise that you've seen put to use back home that you think we could benefit from, here. If you have something to share with the group, I'm sure we'd all be thankful that you offered up the time to teach us!"

Zack, for example, would teach the group the fine art of smuggling cookies into serious meetings of an almost militaristic nature. The trick, of course, was to leave them in his pockets and give them to people who asked nicely.

And Arthur would be onto him eventually. He was just keeping an eye out. "So if you are prepared to share, step up to us this week. You may bring your own tale to the front this week, give us a demonstration, and please come up to have a word with us if you would like to demonstrate some time in the coming weeks, or would be willing to offer your services in training, or leading the reserves through a training exercise. We are here to learn from each other as best we can, and so each other is the best resource we've got."

He gave a nod to those gathered, then took a step back. Only to take a step back later to give his own round-up.

"Well, if you're hidden, then you probably don't get many passers-through, right?" Zack was smirking a little, yes. "That'd technically make you backwater, wouldn't it?"

"No!" she insisted. So mean, Zack, so mean! "It just means we're sneaky 'cause we're ninja!"

And, you know, that whole living in the middle of a forest thing.

"Oh, that's what that means, is it?"

Aaaand then he was leaning forward, arms crossed over his chest, and grinning at her.

"Backwater ninja?"

If she punched him, he'd totally deserve it.

Ino had half expected something like that.

That was totally not stopping her from trying to kick him (hard) in the shin.

"Pfft!"

Zack totally took that kick like a man!

Which was to say, he was now laughing as he attempted to balance on one leg without hopping around too much, pinwheeling one arm to keep from toppling over.

"Okay, I probably had that coming to me!"

"Yes," she said, tossing her head and trying to whack him again for good measure. "You totally did!"

Zack deftly danced out of the range of attack number two, and he didn't show signs of his grin letting up any time soon.

"Okay, fine. You're just kinda backwater, then. It's probably nothing like Gongaga."

Where the frogs and the reactor were pretty much the most exciting things around.

Okay, Konoha was more exciting than that!

Geeez.

"Way way better than Gongaga!" she insisted, spluttering. "A hundred million billion times better!"

"Okay, hey! That's not fair!" Zack crossed his arms over his chest and attempted to refrain from pouting. "Gongaga's got monsters and..."

And... Uh.

"... Okay, monsters and a Mako reactor. That's about it."

Look, he couldn't really sing the praises of a place that he'd run away from because it was so boring.

"Then I," she said, utterly confident, "totally win the cool home contest."

"Konoha has monsters, does it?"

Zack had to cling to the monsters thing while he still could! It was kinda pretty much all he had to work with, here.

"Bandits, mostly," she admitted. "And sometimes demons."

"Oh, well, Gaia's got those, too, of course," Zack noted. "I mean, you don't see either of them around Gongaga so much, though. Gongaga's mostly Grangalans and Griffins and Gagighandi, stuff like that."

Yeah, in English next, Zack?

"Um," Ino said, "those're monsters?"

"You'd kinda have to see them to believe it," Zack agreed. "They're more dangerous than they sound. Honest."

She snickered. "I can't even pronounce some of that--say them again?"

"Lots of hard-g sounds," Zack laughed. "When you're in Gongaga, watch out for Griffins, Grangalan, and Gagighandi!"

Actually, the Grangalan were from the Corel Area, but Gongaga wasn't too far from there.

"And Grand Horns, but that's too easy to say."

"When you're in Gongaga, watch out for Griffins, Grangalan, and Gagighandi!" she parroted back.

Huh. That was fun to say, actually.

"And that's totally too easy to say--ruins the tongue twister!"

"It does," Zack agreed, laughing. "And Beachplugs, Flower Prongs, and Kimara Bugs don't even start with G."

And so they were totally negligible! How easily they were done away with!

"Flower Prongs?" Ino asked, intrigued. "Like, killer flowers of death?"

"That's totally what they are," Zack agreed, and then he put his fingers to his forehead like little horns and he wiggled them a bit. "Sometimes, they have eyes on stalk-things, even. And teeth. And they can poison you!"

How... exciting?

"I want one," Ino squeaked. "So cute!"

And lethal!

But that was a plus!
