Jaime had a huge bowl of fresh popcorn dripping with butter and drenched in s salt. He was sitting near the edge of the roof, just looking out. "Man," he shook his head, looking over at his companion, "this may be the weirdest thing that's happened since I got here. And that's saying something."

He snorted. "Does this sort of thing happen often?"

"And do you think we have enough popcorn for any other unaffected people who might show up?"

"I don't think this has ever happened before," Dinah said, sitting on the edge of the roof and grabbing a handful of popcorn for herself. "I mean, days of singing, and truth-telling, and a weekend when I actually was someone else, and one when I was in another person's body, but this? New by me." She shook her head, still kind of amazed. "We can always make more popcorn, maybe?" She squinted off the roof toward some ~~NPC~~ fight breaking out on the other side of the school grounds wall.

"Though... judging by how many people are weird... we may not even need to make more popcorn." He shook his head. "What's the most interesting thing you've seen so far?"

Dinah had to think about that, then finally admitted, "It's a tie between Karla in a leather catsuit with water-boobs, and Raven dressed up as a dominatrix." She shook her head. "Why couldn't I run into any guys who were trying out leather pants for the weekend?"

"Probably for the same reason I didn't run into Karla or Raven," Jaime countered with an amused snort. He was trying not to get too distracted imagining either of those things.

"I think I'm glad I didn't run into a few people like that though. At least not yet. Radio is going to be insane. And Professor Max---" Yeah, not thinking about that. "Never mind, just way, way craziness."

"Professor Max?" Jaime prompted with a grin. Maybe he could get her to blush or something. That'd be fun.

Or flail! A lot! "I didn't see him, 'Dite said-- never mind, doesn't matter, and I wasn't there. Nope." Dinah shook her head vehemently. "Sooo, what's the weirdest thing you saw?"

Momoko knew roof etiquette and so did not sneak up on the two she'd found sitting awfully close to the edge. "Hey! You know, I will totally charge you a rescue fee if you fall and I have to fly down and catch you! Can I sit? Oh! And can I have some popcorn?"

"The popcorn is for everyone," Jaime declared with a grin. "Good to see you still among the normal."

"Oooho, trying to change the subject. Must have been something." He grinned roguishly. "Come on, you're gonna have to spill sooner or later."

Dinah gave him a deadpan look, then fished Raven's card out of her pocket. "Why don't you call Mistress Raven and ask her what her specialty is?" She was turning even more pink as she spoke. "I'm sure she'd like to make a pet out of you too!"

Jaime laughed. "Seriously?" He took the card... "Man... if I didn't know this would kill her, I'd so show her this when she gets back to normal..."

But while Jaime wasn't above a little teasing... Well, that was a bit much.

"Yay! And I'm as normal as I usually am! Which is pretty normal for me, but others may tell you different! There's a mini hospital in the rec room downstairs; did you know that?" She plopped down beside him and reached for some popcorn. "So what's going on?"

"Yeah, no," Dinah said, reaching for it again. "She really will be mortified. No matter how good she looked in the bustier. That whole scene is so not her."

Well. Mostly. Dinah had to wonder if some payback was involved for Max, because of the whole vampire world thing.

"Hey, you're totally normal!" Jaime promised her. "And I saw that. Weird, huh?" He bumped her shoulder lightly and shifted the bowl to be easier to reach. "We're just up here people watching, and swapping stories. You got any to add?"

Jaime looked at the card, then sighed and let her take it. "Yeah. She's... I don't know if 'delicate' is the word, but... sensitive? Maybe it's better that I haven't seen her. So she won't pick that up from me later." The Scarab had an amazingly good idea of what her empathic abilities could do.

Jaime's weird night was about to get weirder. Still in the satin slipdress she'd worn to the wedding, Deirdre climbed up to the roof, sat near the edge, and proceeded to cry as if her heart was broken. The interruption during the ceremony had reminded her of her own evil twin, who had died in jail under mysterious circumstances after being charged for grand larceny of the D'Infinité family gems.

She missed Dolores.

Jaime glanced over in alarm. From behind the girl looked familiar, but... he couldn't put his finger on it. Still, she was crying. He got up, set his popcorn down, and hurried over. "Um... excuse me... are you okay?"

"Nope, no stories." She tossed a piece of popcorn in the air and tried to catch in in her mouth. She missed, pouted playfully , and leaned forward to watch it fall to the ground. "Just that. I've pretty much been in my room all day, surfing the web. Does that mean I can't stay? I can totally make something up, if I need to!"

"Sensitive," Dinah had to agree. "Carefully balanced. I really hope nothing happens that'll be too much for her to deal with, but 'Dite's keeping an eye on her." She shook her head. "I've never been the sane one during these weekends. Tony was still a grown-up, and he didn't turn into anyone else that one weekend. And I know a couple people didn't have to sing. I'm kinda wondering what kind of crazy I'd be if I was effected. Or you!" She threw a handful of popcorn at him. "Amnesia? Or weird clothes?" Weird, sexy clothes... okay, erase that thought.

Deirdre looked up at him, face shining with pleasure at the unanticipated kindness. "I am, I suppose. I was just at a wedding in town and it ... reminded me of some things I wanted to forget."

She smiled politely. "It's nothing, I suppose. Thank you for asking."

"Hmm... well, you can probably stay, but make something up anyway. It'll give us something to talk about." He tossed a piece of popcorn at her head.

"Weird clothes... Like..." he was trying really hard not to imagine Dinah in sexy clothes. That would get awkward!

"It can't be nothing if you're crying like that," Jaime corrected her gently. "I think I've got a handkerchief here somewhere." He reached into a pocket looking for one. Then reached into another pocket. Nope, not there either.

Extremely. "Superhero costumes," Dinah blurted, thinking that was safe. Then remembered her superhero costume from both Halloween and that one stupid class. "Except without capes," she added very quickly. "Because that way lies death."
