5th Floor Common Room, Friday Morning

Raven had been trying to make more of an effort to listen to the radio, so after hearing on Wednesday night that Anakin had talked to Max and then on Thursday that Max had been in a fight, she had confused mixed emotions. She was hesitant to jump to conclusions, but if what she suspected was correct, then she was dismayed that violence and injury had been done on her behalf, but she also experienced a strange warm and fuzzy feeling of satisfaction. It was...interesting.

This morning, because she was all done with classes, she had settled in the common room to watch her very first DVD purchase: season 1 of Rumor Gal. It was so she could study the complexities of emotions, really.

The weetiny snowangels who were marching through the room might disagree.

[My last day of work before ten days of vacation. Help me survive!]

Mat was finished with his classes and was in search of someone to entertain him.

"Hello," he said with a smile, flopping onto a sofa. "The tiny wet people are bloody strange."

"It's not to dance," Mat said, laughing. "I offered them a finger as a partner but they weren't interested."

"I almost cried," Mat said very solemnly, then ruined it by laughing again. "Their loss."

Mat bowed from his seat. "And a beautiful woman to pay me such a pretty compliment."

He winked. "It makes you blush. Are you enjoying having all of this free time?"

"We'll have to come up with something to keep ourselves occupied," Mat said. "I'm not going home either."

Mostly because he hadn't heard if Elayne was ready to come to her senses and go to Caemlyn to become Queen. If she wasn't, Mat wasn't coming within a mile of Rand.

...and because he didn't know how to get home. Details.

"Oh, I can think of a few," he said. "Stones, cards," kissing games...

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2009-12-18 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's a strategy game," Mat explained. "White stones against black ones."

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2009-12-18 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"Does it really matter?" Mat replied with a smile. "We have lots of time to figure it out."

So...yes.

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2009-12-18 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not at all," Mat said, winking. "Why, would you prefer better company?"

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2009-12-18 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"I do have that reputation," he laughed. "When I was younger, I once dredged a dog in flour to make it look like a ghost."

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2009-12-19 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Mat nodded. "Unluckily for me, the dog ran straight home and through the just washed kitchen of the blacksmith's wife. I had to hide in the barn."

"It was a very small town and I had a reputation," Mat said. "It got to be that a goodwife's laundry couldn't fall down without me getting blamed for it."

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2009-12-19 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Not at all.

"Oh, of course," Mat said, all elaborate innocence.

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2009-12-19 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I'm pure as snow," Mat lied. Badly.

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2009-12-19 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Mat winked again. "Do they?"

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2009-12-19 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think you're wrong," Mat said, leaning closer. "Maybe you need your memory refreshed."

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2009-12-19 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Mat moved his fingers to brush against her cheek, then leaned all the way in to kiss her.

[identity profile] bloody-luck.livejournal.com 2009-12-19 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Mat's kiss was, as Raven had predicted, not terribly innocent.

At all.
